Why are you so obsessed with downplaying Suzuki? Genuine question. I could see the hate if people were constantly ranting and raving, saying the bikes are the best thing out there, but they are not. There's one common denominator in every Suzuki thread, and it's you constantly berating them. Live and let live, man.

That said, and maybe where I come off negative is so many people saying how great they are but have never owned one. If you want suzuki professional team at the races, then go out and buy one and give suzuki a really good incentive to develop the bike more.

Mr. Afterbar, what are you riding these days? If it's yellow, I apologize if I've upset you. If it's not yellow, take the drive down from Greenbay to Sportland in south Wisconsin and pick one up! 😀
You haven't upset me at all. I've had my fair share of Suzuki's and almost bought the latest generation, but decided to stay on green which I bought from Sportland. FYI, Sportland is no longer in business.

The dyno tests are clear, the new engine is significantly faster everywhere and has better throttle response based on the reviews. Vohland didn't seem to be getting out motored by Cooper when they showed the overhead shots on Saturday. The only 250s I see consistently getting out pulled are the Hondas. Suzukis are not usually running high enough to get TV coverage so hard to say on those but they seem to do decent on starts. It would be interesting if they had a top tier rider to see where the bike really stands.

I can see it when I watch the races. I saw it before I ever bought a Honda. Two years ago at Indy supercross there was a jump section out of a corner and the star and pc bikes could triple out. Jett had to hit the corner perfect to barely make it and once it got rough he couldn’t make it anymore but Shimoda and the Star riders kept hitting it. I see this a lot when I watch the races. Don’t you wonder why people are able to pass Jett right back? You don’t see people passing Cooper, RJ, or Shimoda like that. When is alone and can make good lines it has enough power. When he has to change things up a bit the lack of power is obvious to me. The new bike looks a little better but still not up to par. Jett has to really conserve momentum compared to the competition or he gets pulled out of corners.

I guess we will see when he gets on the 450 if he can suddenly pass a lot easier. The Honda 450 does not lack power compared to the other bikes.

Power was an issue on the last gen Honda 250f but not so much with the new.

I understand that Suzuki now do the same that what they did with JGR. The wsx begins in one month, if they change brands, it could be the same for hep and barx.
We also have to wait the last round of the Japanese championship. A new bike could show up.
If not, I think that Suzuki will keep the Rmz unchanged like the RM 85. Till the day they will do an electric bike.
We'll have answers soon!

I love Suzuki's. Always have. That being said, I would doubt they have a new bike coming. For me, I love the simplicity of the zook. I do all my own repairs/maintenance, I don't finance toys, I don't race anymore, and am a 200lb vet who doesn't have as much time to ride so I prefer the power of 250s. For all those reasons, I can go buy a brand new RMZ 250 off the showroom floor with money in the bank and have it do everything I need it to do. I would be willing to bet there are many in similar places as me. However, that isn't making Suzuki bookoo bucks to make it worth it for them to design a new machine at this stage of the game I'm afraid.

Seeing they’ve pulled the pin on motogp I’d be curious to see if they do get some momentum on the dirt side. With all the things over the past decade they’ve still got quite a large fan base, I can smell a zooki surge if they come out with an overhaul in 24. They’re a great handling bike always have been so it’s not like they don’t have a decent base to build off.

The Yellow bikes will be back with Kenny on it next year!! Go Suzuki!

Tomac's mistake/stall last week in Moto2 at Ironman may have been enough to close the championship door if he were on a Zook.

No doubt that at the highest lever of motocross, E-start now is a must. Although, I think its safe to assume that in the not so distant future, e-start will be obsolete as well at the highest level and all electric bikes will be the norm. Interesting to think that if all the manufactures switch to all electric MX machines and Suzuki decides to just keep selling the unchanged current model for years and years to come like with the RM85, will their sales go up?

Third place was 20+ seconds back. It would have changed nothing.

But that was an awkward place for a kick restart in terms of bike position and footing. I definitely could see (and have seen) Tomac stuck for 20 secs on restart.

Why the down votes? He's not wrong, especially on a 4 stroke you need the electric start. You drop a Cr250 in a turn and one kick and it's started again. 4 strokes are a different story, how many times have you seen a factory 4 stroke rider, before electric start, sit there and try to kick start it 10 times before it before it got going?

It isn't 2004, those things fired right up.

Except there have been multiple times when a bike didn't "fire right up" and folks passed Eli throughout his career. This wasn't one.

It is not a monstrous advantage. I didn't claim it was. But it is certainly an advantage, and maybe 10-20 secs over the course a season is the type of numbers factories tend to spend 6 figures to obtain. And this comes basically free for choosing any brand with e-start

E start doest fire right up all the time either though...happened to sexton this year. Whats your point?

My point is that e-start is an obvious advantage that Eli took in a sequence that could leave him farther behind or even passed.

And, to be clear: I am not saying that kickstart is unreliable for starting purposes. Sure -- both kick and electric may not light it one time or another.

I am saying footing is frequently situationatially awkward or unworkable for kickstarting, and only addresed by moving the bike. E-start almost always eliminates this case, and with the type of haste riders seek in race situations.

Eh doesn't matter me. I stopped racing when the 4 stroke (cheater bikes) took over and you had to pay 12k to buy one. I'll take my 03 CR250 2 stroke over any 4stroke. Besides the fact they take very little skill to ride and repairs are ridiculously expensive. I thought they would kill the sport. But say hello to ebikes. It makes me sad that my favorite sport will be none existent in 10 years.

Why you worried about 12K? You said you were set for life and never had to work again?

I'm good to go buddy. 4 strokes suck and I miss the old days when you had to have skill to ride a bike fast.

With that said very few people, including myself, could never ride any 450 production stock bike to it's full potential. If Suzuki adds an electric start and keeps their handling in tact, it is a great bike for the geezers like me (I refuse to ride a 4 stroke cheater bike myself) I'm 42 btw. I love my 2 stroke that actually requires skills to ride fast. 4 strokes are lame imo.

Once electric bikes become the the norm, I will be done watching the sport. I know it's coming and it makes me sad. Thank God for YouTube. I hated 4 strokes and now we will have Supercross races with bikes that sounds like RC Cars? RIP SX and MX. 😥

Not worried about anything, I just hate 4 strokes. Although my all time favorite bike was a 1998 XR 200. That bike was amazing on the Norcal blue groove clay at Clubmoto in Norcal during the summer months. Good times.

We still race 2 stroke rc cars. Electric didn’t kill them off. You can’t replace the sound or power delivery with electric. You also can’t run a 45 or even a 30 minute main with an e buggy.

I heard from one of the last pulpmx podcast that AC9 rejected the offer from HEP as he didn't want to ride the current bike and have to switch and adapt himself to another bike next year...
(wich could means that they are definetely switching of brand next year)
But on another podcast Justin Pipes have said that concerning the future with SUZUKI, he couldn't tell anything about a new bike, but he said that the future is bright!
So there is big contradiction between the two informations...
Wait for the WSX series, we gonna hear about SUZUKI plans pretty soon!
