Well spoken young man. I like his rebel spirit! He worked his ass off……I love that too. I hope this kid gets that bike when all the smoke clears. That’s what should happen. I would have liked to see the content that he would have created with the bike.

I am not sure why Yamaha (Star Racing) did not sit down with Brennan and his dad and make a behind the scenes deal.
Easy enough to offer up a bike, a good non-factory engine, parts for a year and a ride day on the full factory bike.
No issues, no 20 page Vital thread and no hate.

There’s a lot in here to be disappointed about. I’m simply left wondering why some of these rules even exist if they’re not going to have “any teeth”.

While there are 2 sides to this story, I really don’t dig how our media sources all run with the “hear-say” instead of actually interviewing the -actual- person that “filed the claim”?

I can fully understand why the Deegans, Star & Yamaha WOULD NOT want the bike “claimed”; but, damn…why do we have the rule & when is it going to be enforced?

Who’s the responsible AMA/rule enforcing individual “on the ground at Loretta’s” and why wouldn’t/doesn’t that person simply grab tech officials and go get said motorcycle and place it in impound as soon as the claim is filed/recognized by the official?

Truth be told, I love this event and believe in these rules that are suppose to “keep the field sorta equal”…but, the politics of all this is beyond embarrassing.

Signed,

An MX Sports fan
A Deegan fan
An Amateur Racing fan that thinks Mitch Payton is right.

Heads should roll, and Deegans titles should be stripped over this fiasco. But life goes on and in a week or two this will all be forgotten about unfortunately. The most we can probably hope for is for karma to do it’s thing

100% agree. If the kid really just wanted to ride a factory bike, if he really didn't want to exploit the secrets in that motor, then a deal could have been made.

Anybody who's been in business for a minute could have worked something out with Brennan. Instead, they panicked and went all Corleone on the kid.

The Irony here……..This is flowing on my IG and YouTube….. They won’t let you claim one and pay for it, but they will give someone his bike for FREE! 😂😂🤷🏼‍♂️🤷🏼‍♂️
And they expect people to think it’s the same bike?! Beyond laughable and just makes them look worse.

Matt Walker always acted like an entitled little brat back in the day. No surprise his role in this. With the education of a 6th grader it’s no surprise he didn’t see himself being used as a pawn. Too busy gargling Brian Deegan’s balls I’m sure. Brain says jump. Walker says how high.

What a bunch of clowns.

The kids are the pawns in this network of corporate business affairs.

Brennan's exercising of this rule is exposing how inter-linked the businesses are here. Everyone from Yamaha, MX Sports, Racer X, PulpMX and more all have something to loose if it's exposed what's in that bike. They all see potential profits fading, thus the intents to intimidate Brennan.

AMA should investigate this whole situation and proceed objectively to insure that this never happens again where someone attempting to pursue this AMA rule will not be threatened to do other. But, as I've come to know the AMA in the past many years, they too are there for the profits. I doubt they will do anything, for their corporate profits are at stake too by taking action.

I'm no longer a lister of PulpMX, nor a reader of RacerX. As I see this, anything the Coombs family is involved is corrupt. Yamaha is obviously just concerned about their corporate profits, so that should show how little they really care about our beloved sport.

I've been involved in this sport for 40 years and have seen many of these types of stories. Nothing will happen in favor of Brennan's side, but all of the businesses involved will continue to make profits. The kids are just pawns in another story of corporate greed.

Rules for thee, but not for me. Everybody is above the law these days . . . until they're not

Hope everybody has a great weekend (and then back to work on Monday)

This rule is very easily sorted for the future. Change it to a claim can be made anonymously. That way only 1 ama official & the kid knows about it. No threats no intimidation nothing. I garantee after 2 seasons there will not be a cheater bike on the line.
If it were me i would claim all day long. Some of the suspension alone on those bikes could be 10–12 grand

This is hard to digest as a fan of many involved, so many heads should roll but unfortunately evil is winning in our world right now. Haiden Deegan needs to take a page out of RV2 playbook and cut ties with his father if he wants to avoid the mike and tony show. Lavar Ball is another good example of ruing what “your kids” work so hard for. It worked extremely well for Vilipoto. But the truth is BRian Deegan isn’t sacrificing what Haiden is when he lines up. DC has a chance to save face to a degree in all of this summers debacle by getting behind this kid and doing the right thing. I’d almost bet nothing comes from this and it’s pathetic, the kid should be allowed to come to unadilla and pick whatever star bike he wants and then all of this is over. I can’t understand how Mitch and some of the other guys like O’show etc aren’t getting behind the kid and causing an uproar, it would be beneficial to them here. Anyways Happy Saturday folks, as a tomac fan, let’s go HRC.

Not being objective in his reporting. After all, he's "BluCru" and receives income from Yamaha to support his business. His desire for profits are at stake here.

I agree so much he should get bike and Donny from Yamaha should get fired for trying say he will pull that dealers Yamaha license. But if that was my kid racing (Deegan) and he was going for win I would try do everything protect him and not let shit like that fuck with him and I would be pissed also someone try claim my bike

This sounds pretty objective to me...from his twitter

"If Deegan and/or Star Yamaha play by the rules and let the bike go, none of this shit happens. You want someone to blame? One or both of them are it."

Yamaha had better get their legal time involved ASAP and do some digging because there's likely some shit that they don't want to come out during the "discovery process". I've had to live through the discovery process in business and nothing will get past it. They will look at cell phone records, text messages, phone call records, emails, interview dealership managers and employees, telephone records, etc. All of it comes out in court and it will be blatantly obvious who's lying and who's telling the truth. The truth always comes out in situations like this if it goes down the legal path.

If what Brennan said is accurate (which should easy to verify), heads need to roll on the Yamaha side. Its disgusting, frankly. Fuck Yamaha. As for the Deegan's, I'll never support any manufacturer he rides for.

I disagree to an extent and here is why. Is it easier to black ball a kid or hurt Yamaha, mx sports, dealerships, sponsors?

Sure maybe the kid can win a lawsuit and some money, but even if he does he will still be black balled by the industry. Also, dont think Yamaha cant get the dealership to lie, cotter, deegan, etc.

Regardless if the story is 100% true or not tthe kid is the big loser. I would consider helping sponsor him though. Hopefully all sponsors wont drop him and new sponsors wont be afraid to take him on.

No I wouldn’t but I think Tim Cotter and Yamaha and Matt Walker look the worst out of all of this . He never said Brian was swearing or threaten him was just asking why you doing this . And do you really think the kid made 17k in a couple months working part time on bikes ?
