Just seems weird that Kenny would give up his Red Bull sponsorship to maybe get one more season racing

Red Bull actually is dropping Roczen.
Would not be that surprising.

I have not heard the podcast, so I cannot comment on it form that aspect, but this would be very surprising as I'm fairly certain Kenny's deal with Red Bull is a personal deal. So unless he's dropping Red Bull to go to Monster, or Star is doing some kind of side deal to supply bike and parts, I can't see it being Kenny.

Now I feel like this give traction to Webb to Star after his SX only deal for next year is up with KTM. That will give Star a year to shake out the new YZ model before Webb comes over.

Who know, but it'll be cool to see it all play out!
I thought maybe Webb but I figured a whole year was too far ahead to be testing a Star bike.

As for Redbull they also mentioned Roczen might be on his last year with Redbull so that would make the switch easier.

Either way I can’t see them clearing out the ranch for 2 full days unless it’s something serious.

I don't know if they are necessarily looking for a 3rd rider, but Star seems like the type of team that will never pass up the chance to add talent. If they have the chance to add a guy they think will be a legit contender they will find money and find room in the semi.

I wonder what kind of money Kenny is commanding now? He's still a top guy, of course. But do we really see any championships coming from him? But he will definitely put whatever bike he's on at the front, getting exposure. He will win races, too.

He’s gotta be getting some pretty big money I would assume. I think most people signing the checks know a title isn’t in store but he brings a lot of value to a brand.

The harsh realist in me doesn't see a championship in him but the talent is so intoxicating that if I was a team manager I would probably want him at any cost. The thing is I really don't think the Yamaha is a good fit for him. The bike is a brute and he is anything but. I've mentioned before that I work trackside as a DigDug at Daytona and I was watching him a couple years ago coming out of the 180 towards the west banking. It was a double on/off and I was standing right at the leading edge of the table with one foot on the jump so I was within 5 feet. I swear he was landing within 2 inches of the same spot at the beginning of the table lap after lap. You would hear no change in the tone of the motorcycle as in the revs, He would land and the bike would be absolutely still and just rocket forward off the table. Most guys are landing with the gas on and the tire is spinning as it lands, you can physically see the bike tying itself into a knot, his bike just lands and goes forward. You would have to really pay attention to it and could never catch it on tv but it was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen on a dirt bike. I wish I could describe it as good as he was doing it.

It was obviously Cairoli since he’s switching to star according to members of this forum a month or two back Tongue

Its crazy what you see when you work a race. I flagged a local NESC race last weekend. I watched the experts hit this one section over and over for 8 hrs. When you're a couple feet away you see every little difference in what each guy is doing. I get what you're saying about putting what he was doing into words.

My bet would be. It was a secret test for the 23 and nothing to do with a rider.

Must be a high profile guy if they’re didn’t want anyone else present.
agree to that.
No one around so the Star Boss cooks lunch and change tires ?

Someone must have seen the rider that are misplaced around that area

With Eli’s ‘23 season being SX only, maybe they’re will want another 450 guy, outdoors only.

Who have we got who is high-profile but want to do outdoor only? An MXGP rider coming to America??
Spending ‘23 outdoors only before doing the whole of 2024 SX & MX?

Ken R ... imo... is very skilled but loves drama. Just loves it. “It’s the suspension. It’s the chassis. I have XYZ and am not at my best”. It really gets old.

Reminds me of a ex-girlfriend with a great set of antlers that always had problems. No matter what happened.. problems, drama. etc. Really? Really?

I m so over this stuff. RUN! Hide and RUN... fast! IMO

Is your ex one of the fastest ever in mx and the best rider to not win a 450 SX title though?

I agree that sometimes Kenny should let his riding speak for him, but in the end I think he's just trying to be transparent. Did I think his Instagram post was necessary? Well, no. But the sport is still way better with him in the mix and a lot of people who are annoyed for no reason and tell him to retire will be sad when he does so one day.
And about the setup thing.. A lot of riders are actually like that and complain and make excuses, even outside the top 10th in a lot of interviews. We just hear it more from Kenny because we get podium interviews from him. I don't like it aswell. Seems weird that riders and teams search for that one perfect setup and apparently "have found something" 9 races in in a 12 race series.

In the end.. I think a bike change could be good for Kenny after what we have seen from Anderson and Tomac, wether it be blue or another color. Having a fresh start and reset wouldn't hurt a guy which riding is so much affected by his mental state.

Look at what they test on, and then what they race on. Testing in perfect conditions can never make for a good race bike..

Girlfriends and motorcycles share similarities. The fast ones are not the most reliable but are the most fun to ride. Everyone likes to look at the ones with the most work and we dream of riding them. The ones that are under powered and slow will last longer and still look good with age. And finally, fat chicks are like mopeds both are alot of fun to ride you just dont want your friend to know your riding them.

I heard this and first thing I thought was an MXGP guy. There were on a break at the time and why else would they kick their own team out.

The only other thing I heard that could also make sense was they were shooting content with the new bikes and didn't want riders in the shots.

I like the idea of Prado. As noted above, have a bike ready for MX in 2023 for the rider then go to SX in 2024.

Just throwing a theory out there..
Maybe they were testing next years bike and they wanted star personnel there..
I feel like if Kenny was gonna test a star bike it would be at his home with no one else there..

The rumour is that no one but a rider and Bobby Regan was there. No extra Star personnel.
