I watched Deegan trackside at Loretta's this year and his speed is not in question. IMO, the biggest obstacle he's going to have are two 30 minute plus 2 motos with only an hour recovery time in between. That's a far cry from one 20 minute moto with a full day to recover like at Loretta's.

To be fair he did set the fastest lap at lorettas on the last lap of his final moto so seems like he has the fitness. Plus with him training with Star team all week im sure they are running two 30s back to back during the week at some point.

Top ten at Ironman would be a success I feel most would say.
Training with the Star team day in and day out is key. Hottest young prospect training with and riding with the best team in the pits is a huge advantage. Not only to chase faster guys everyday but also to see how they prepare themselves and carry themselves daily. That shit rubs off on you and can do nothing but help.

I already said I expect a top 10 out of him but if he holeshot at least one moto and got top 5 overall I would not be shocked in the slightest. Being that this will be the most anticipated debut I also wouldn't be shocked if he folded like a deck of cards and crashed his brains out. I doubt I could ride with that pressure.

He can go top 5, lets see how he handles not winning, I hope keeps it on two wheels.

This. Deegan is talented and can do top 5, imo. Moto is in his blood and I'm glad his dad steered him to moto instead of freestyle.

I get your point but this has gone on forever. Everyone wants to see how the new up and coming star will fair against the current crop of top riders. It’s part of the sport. It makes it exciting. Always has and always will. I’m not sorry one bit for wanting to see the show down and enjoying the hype he brings to the sport. It’s actually a pretty cool part of every sport. In the end this is just entertainment. So the more crazy hype the better.

top 10 would be a success. i wasn't that impressed with him in years past but since getting on big bikes, i have noticed that the dude has perfect form. like one of those kids that already looks like a pro before he goes pro. expect him to be a pretty good pro if he has the head for it.

He does have THAT look. I am not a huge fan of his, all the over commercialization of everything sort of rubs be the wrong way, but I do respect the effort and commitment from that family.
The thing is, his undeniable performance and outright at the combine and Loretta's is just that, undeniable.
Hate the kid and the entourage all you want, but he has legit potential to be an elite pro. Soon.
Top 5 is a stretch because of the mental side, I think. But he has the raw speed for it I think.

Off topic a little here : Isn't it weird how time flies? Doesn't it seem like just last year he was on 65's at LL's? I blinked my eyes and now Haiden is going pro? Seriously , what the hell?
Same thing with Ryder D. I remember him dominating LL on 50s now he's racing pro nats.

He will be "welcomed to the big leagues" in at least one moto.
Lol he’s definitely getting stuffed in a corner fa sure. Sad though but a lot of people jealous of the hype some privateer will do it guaranteed lol. In saying that if he does get through the turmoil where can he end up? If he top tens that’s a really good effort!

Deegan is training with and learning from arguably the best 250 team on the circuit. Cooper, Thrasher and Kitchen are all TOP 10 in championship points. I've heard, but can't confirm his speed is meets or "exceeds" his team mates, so the only reason he wouldn't make top 10 at Ironman would be mental. On that note, he's got daddy Deegan and some great mentors around him since he was in diapers.

If he doesn't freak out and go down, I think he'll finish 6th - 8th for top 10 overall.

$0.02 worth....

He's in the deep end of the pool today. The nice thing is that if after today if they think he's not quite ready they can regroup back to amateur status for awhile.

He rode really well until his crash, at least we can all assume it was a crash. Solid 11/12 all moto.

He's not ready. I'll be shocked if he lines up for the second moto.

He’s not ready? Ran top ten, then 11/12 the whole moto as a 16 year old, and his bike locked up. So he’s not ready then? Ok.

Well Brian deleted his post already about the bike locking up so I wouldnt rule out that it was just a straight up crash

There's a video on Haiden's IG. It was BAD. Engine had nothing to do with it. Shocked he's ok.

Does not look like it locked up to me, but then again I am not plugged in to whatever Brian Deegan says as my main source of information either. Woohoo

He said he lost his rear brake on the second lap. Rough start for Danger Boy, probably due to a lot of nerves. He'll regroup and come back swinging.

Bike didn't appear to lock up, looked like a mistake. If moto scores of 34-24 make him ready in your mind then we'll just have to agree to disagree.

He was just coming off of supermini's this time last year, he's not ready for prime time. All of the Deegan homers think he's this unbelievable superstar and he's not...yet. He's IG awesome (to some) but that doesn't equate to getting it done on the track. He needs more time to develop before we crown him.
