Swear to god I'm gonna be pissed if it's not huge. Better be a new frame and everything. If it's the same bike with like a slightly better engine and small minor changes or something I'm gonna be so disappointed. Don't think I have to worry about that with how it's been marketed so far though. Anyway, I'll find out in a minute.

Yeah, because they definitely need to totally reinvent the wheel with the bike that won last year’s MX, this year’s SX and more than likely this year’s MX too.

2nd worst looking YZF to date… wtf Yamaha! Back looks like a Kawi, front number plate taken from Honda and made it even worse looking. Wtf is with the shroud drooping so low?? I hope the engine and chassis has just been improved from previous years to make up for the looks of this bike.

I thought it looked slimmer in the middle:

Optimized intake path draws air from under the side covers and seat allowing for a lighter, slimmer and more compact shroud area. This redesign allows the airbox cover to be lower and more narrow and radiator shrouds to be slimmer.

Doesn't that make it the lightest Japanese motorcycle?

Digging it. Appears to be keeping the great aspects of the platform with a slimmer and lighter feel. New engine is a surprise. Sign me up.

Shut up and take my money.

Also looks like I'll have a new intake scoop to design. . .

I am really digging this bike. Remind me of the mid 2000s YZs in styling, which I absolutely loved. Cannot wait to hear ride reports. I really hope it is not as cramped as previous years felt to me.

Reading through the yamaha site they said they expanded the rider triangle and gave more room from seat to footpeg area

I can’t tell from pictures but it looks like a weird bar pad, did they add a steering stabilizer or was that just a rumor?
