Hoping you dig ‘em. If you’ve not attended this fun-fest, please do so. It’s definitely your cup of mud. * I’ll add more pics later, if and when I get my **** together. Cheerio.

You’ve never seen so many smiling, happy, care-free people in your life.

Oddly, there seems to be NO Rules at all, at MidOhio. I like it.

I had every intention of making it to VMD this year until Brandon let gas prices go completely off the charts. 14 MPG was not happening for that distance.

I have a few feet of space left in the garage that needs some additional project bikes that I'll get to "soon".

Meh, there's always Barber's in October. It's only 2 hours up the road.

BTW, what are these "rules" you allude to? Never heard of that at a vintage event.Laughing

THANK YOU, Rupert…for the funnest thread on the board in the last couple of weeks. I guess I’m old enough to remember…and I love looking at the older bikes & people still having fun with them! Good show!

This is my favorite thing to do on the planet. If you have never been to vintage days I would highly recommend to change that. Lots of great racing

Cheers, everyone, appreciate the love. Likely gonna hit up Lorettas next week with me stupid little Nikon. “ They give us those nice bright colors
Give us the greens of summers
Makes you think all the world's a sunny day, oh yeah
I got a Nikon camera
I love to take a photograph
So mama, don't take my Kodachrome away…”

My old man and I always did the vintage motorbike club meet in Portland, IN the week before this. I’ve never been to the Mid Ohio show. Looks awesome! Something I’ll definitely need to make happen.

Sooo many cool pictures, Thanks for sharing! Thinking of "no rules"...did the burnout contest take place this year in the back corner of the camp?

I saw a open trailer like that but it had 12 dirt bikes full of mud on it. The 12 where crammed into a crew cad in Chicago land.

It was a hell of a wait to get in Thursday morning, but the weekend is so worth it. Everything from burnout pit, to drunks eating mud. Circle track shenanigans, sweet swap meet finds, stand up hill climbs, to the Wall of Death. Tons and tons of 2 wheeled racing of all sorts. It is the best event EVER! Ive been going for nearly 20 yrs and Ill never miss one as long as I live. Thanks Mid Ohio and all the racers, vendors, and attendees for a GREAT weekend! See you next year.

Thanks for the pictures. That is me on the # 319 Bul 73 ish 250. Was the first outing for the basket case 125/250/ matador. Was racing Vintage 250 A on that bike.

Bike was assembly and jetted a few days before the event. Then when I arrived in Indiana from North Carolina and looked it over I had it torn back down, with my dad that used to race pro MX in the 70s on a Bul, to a frame with engine. Was up until 4AM Thursday morning getting it together. Last fix was finding a giant rust hole in the pipe that had been puttied over and painted. Welded a patch over that which was sketchy because the whole thing was rusted paper thin. Checked that it started and that the kill switch worked...loaded it up.

Went out for practice and the bike quit after the first turn. Pulled it back to the paddock(Our group has road race bikes for the weekend as well). Pulled ignition cover. The wheel was laying in the cover. Guess I should have checked the new ignition that was just installed a few days ago. Definitive problem though. Many herca derks later on that flywheel nut and it ran great. Too bad the only ride was in the mud after the big rain. Did have it lock the rear wheel and kill the engine once in the moto, probably mud+rocks. I quickly confirmed this was an engine that cannot be started with the clutch pulled in. Passed a few and settled in. Bob Bean caught up from the second gate drop so I rode with him for a while hoping Sharon would get me in some pictures until he fell to the mud and muck.

Finished out in 4th place in Vintage 250 A MX. May return next year with some engine/suspension enhancements. Mainly all the the "flywheel" mass of the rotating parts in the engine. Power was good but you had to wait for it. Time will tell.

Scuderia Shamrock loaned me the ride an I appreciate it. Thanks to our whole crew we keep getting our racing program a little better every year.

Yes it is. There sections that are rowdy that you keeps young ones away from usually only crazy at night.

Why is there no national? Pro teams can use the raceways accomodation, there looks enough ground and woods to build a real national MX track and it could be combined with some real American fun like barrel riding and stuff like that and old timer day on friday and sunday.

There is already too much modern bike classes and not enough time for vintage. It is a Vintage National already and pretty full. Harescrambles, MX, Trials all have to be done to win the Grand National title. Plus road race and flat track all going down. The HS course is fun, it's mellow but fun. The MX track is good for vintage. Want to make it better, bring more pre 1975 bikes even 1960s bikes to force them to add older classes.
