$25/hour is a low starting pay for a skilled job with ZERO experience around here. Let alone 10 years+tools
When I'm done working Mon-Fri my time is more valuable than that. I'll go ride my dirt bike on my own dime.
And yeah I'm a Vet B rider working as a service advisor making close to six-figures as well at a new car dealer.
Edit: Would be a cool gig for some young man with no family, able to travel trying to pave his way in the industry.

$189.95 - $239.95
I just notice your location shows up on this site. Take a look at the following.
A salary of $50,000 in Forest Lake, Minnesota could decrease to $41,862 in Panama City, Florida (assumptions include Homeowner, no Child Care, and Taxes are not considered.
Median Home Cost $356,200 $204,200 $152,000 (42.7% less)
Also have you consider quality of life. Minneapolis is huge and I am not fond of big cities. It is cold up there. Traffic sucks in big cities.
You are not wrong it is going to take the right person to want to do this. I just thought it was everyone who loves to ride.
I don't think he's being honest with himself.
He wants someone to diagnose and repair cars including tricky timing chain jobs, motor and tranny swaps, maintain car lot, detail cars, buy cars at auction and private sellers.
Maintain bikes .
Fly away for bike trips and then also (implied but not stated) wash and maintain diesel pusher motor home and be all around McGyver bad ass while keeping the GoPro's charged up to record sweet riding footage to then edit and post video's to social media while probably making gourmet food to boot.
Am I close to what you really need?
For $1000 a week and a bike per year whilst relocating to a red-hot housing market in a beach community and still have 10 years of auto experience.
Sorry if this sounds negative sir but you're asking too much for what the pay is.
I'm sure you will get interest from guys but it takes a special person to handle all those roles smoothly and a seasoned pro will command more than what you're offering.
Probably better off making this a 2 person situation.
I love your idea, but it sounds like it’s for a young person who doesn’t need to make a lot of $$$. But with the experience you are requiring I don’t know who you will find.
Anyway best of luck to you…..I mean that 👍
If this were to really take off (which is a long shot), there will also issues when the YouTube money rolls in… and the sidekick is still pinching pennies. Or if the YouTube channel fails… he’s uprooted his entire life to move to Florida to be a used car lot mechanic with not much room for advancement.
There is definitely the “cool” factor for this opportunity.. but I’d say the chances of it working out long-term are slim.
Either way, good luck.
In all seriousness, what do you bring to the table in this endeavor?
Pit Row
Did this business model come from the mid-life crisis handbook?
Who gets the opportunity to travel around the country and world riding, training and racing paid or unpaid. If you wanted to question it as a scam of some type I would understand. But not to envision this as a great opportunity for a young single man or divorced or single older man with the kids already out the house is simply unfathomable to me.
Also comparing salaries and cost of living to major metro areas is just stupid. We are not California and you do not have to pay $1 million for a cracker box. $150,000 to $250,000 gets you something pretty nice. Move 20 miles outside the city you can cut that almost in half. That is in normal times. Before this month you could barely find anything for sale at all. Market is softening fast here.
I personally value my employees. I am friends with many of them. I have been in business for decades and the best employees are the ones that are loyal friends and I would think they would say the best boss is a loyal friend.
The job description is not set in stone like any other job offer. It is just that an offer that can be negotiated to work best for both of us. I put up the ideal description for me. That does not mean I am set in stone. I can get people to ride with me for free but not likely the same person. I want to have cohesion in the videos.
My responses to all the trolls really are for that unicorn that would be very happy with this opportunity. I don't know if I could look thru all this negativity without some clarification. So if you are interested drop me an email and ask what ever questions you want. Unless you want to be trolled do not respond in this thread. You will obviously be called a moran.
You would need around 3,373.90$ in Panama City to maintain the same standard of life that you can have with 5,700.00$ in Dallas, TX
We do not live on a monolithic country. I am sure a San Francisco person thinks you are getting paid subpar.
Context means a lot.
Just because people are not agreeing with you doesn't mean they are negative or trolling you.
Your original post and job description did come across a little "slavy" but you have since walked it back.
Many guys here are seasoned accomplished business owners like you so perhaps consider other perspective's on your public job search instead of being dismissive?
Good luck finding "your" guy sir.
To accomplish what you want you really need 2 people.
