Yes, correct I have both. I will pick up the Husky next Tuesday as it is ready for me. I will try to do my best to return here to give you a compare. As you can see, I also have the 22 Husky 350 and a 22 GasGas 450 and that gives me good bikes to compare against as well.
Why are you getting 2 different 350's?

First ride tonight on the 23. The nice thing is I got to compare the bike against my fully mod 22 Husky 350 with a big bore. The 23 has much better throttle response and bottom end power. Even the mid might be a good bit stronger. I also have a 450 and to me this is much closer to the 450 then I expected. All and all very happy with the bike.

185lbs. My guess is the new KTM 350 has fixed the lack of grunt. I will learn more as I ride the bike more. It was impressive and had very good throttle response. My older 350s always had a dead spot in the bottom end and this 23 did not have that dead spot.

Well, I like the KTM but have enjoyed the lowered Husky bikes as well. I also have two homes and like to keep 2 bikes at each home. Also, it is not easy to get 350s and I felt I would get what I could as soon as possible.

Good for you! Work hard play harder! I’m at a decision point getting my 350 if I should keep my 19 YZ450 or sell it. Maybe I sell it and get a KTM 450 so the bikes are not so foreign. Been a Yamaha guy my whole life so this is a first for me on the Austrian brand bikes. Currently have a YZ 250 ( 2 stroke)/ YZ450.

At 220lb it also depends if you want to rev the bike with the 350 or have more lug ability on the 450.

I’m 180-185 and still need to ride the bike harder than a 450.

Do mind reving a bike, at almost 50 I grew up on two strokes. I loved the early 350’s with a few basic mods as they really reminded me of riding two stroke. Only problem at my weight it seamed like there was very little torque. I was hoping that the 23 would move the power down low some. If so I’d say it’s the ultimate vet bike even for us “big boned” guys.

Get a vortex and get it mapped, I promise you will see a HUGE improvement…

On my 19 350 I have vortex from Twisted, Yosh full exhaust and screenless filter cage. Great package!

Got a chance to ride a new '23 KTM 350SXF back to back with my 2021 KTM 350 Kailub Russell Edition. The current 350SXF/XCF engine has a bog bore 250F feel to it with a quick revving nature and making it's best power from the upper mid range to top end. Many riders wanted more low end response from the current 350 and it can be found with after market ignitions and exhaust systems. The 2023 KTM 350SXF engine has noticeably better low to mid response, very close to modified current 350 engines, and actually feels more like a mini 450F than a big bore 250F. The mid range on the new engine feels very strong and it still pulls well into the higher RPM ranges. The new '23 350SXF engine also feels more stall resistant and runs very smooth at low RPM's which should be good for off road riders. This new engine also has more engine braking and generally more inertia feel: closer to a 450F feel than 250F (as in the current 350 engine) in the corners.

The new '23 350SXF engine does not obsolete the current 350 engine. In fact some riders may prefer the lighter and more 250F feel of the current engine over the '23 engine. With improved low to mid power feel the new 350 engine is easier to ride and might convert a few Vet 450 riders to the 350 engine size. For me the 350 engine size is still my favorite among the 250/350/450 4-stroke engines.

Really curious to ride one. Some saying the new gen closes the gap to a 450? That’s not a selling point for me, as the whole reason I ride a 350 is because it’s not a 450. I didn’t even like the two stroke air filter cage in my bike as I preferred a less snappy power curve. I leave it on map 2 with tc on and it’s plenty enough to get me around. Just hoping they didn’t “450” my next 350?

I weigh 195 lbs, the owner of the new 350SXF weighs 195 lbs and his son weighs 175 lbs. We all rode my '21 350XCF and the new 23 350SXF back to back and had similar feelings (we all liked the new engine). I weigh 195 lbs, the owner of the new 350SXF weighs 195 lbs and his son weighs 175 lbs. We all rode my '21 350XCF and the new 23 350SXF back to back and had similar feelings (we all liked the new engine). The new engine has noticeably more low to mid power feel (closer to a 450F than the a 250F) and also a little more weight feel in the corners.

Interesting reading. At almost 60 I don't WANT the punchy bottom and mid of a 450 in my 350. That's what makes me tired and gets me hurt. I like a softer low into a normal mid that will the rev as far as I have b@lls to go. I did all the hop ups to my 18 and it was too snappy down low so I've backed out on a few. Quite happy with it now and I will keep it for some time, at least 200 hours. I'm at 120 now, problem free. New top end and clutch this winter at 150 is the plan and then ride it all next year. With the Lucky Gen1s and the Radius CX clutch it's perfect for me.

I like a softer low into a normal mid that will the rev as far as I have b@lls to go. I did all the hop ups to my 18 and it was too snappy down low so I've backed out on a few. Quite happy with it now and I will keep it for some time, at least 200 hours. I'm at 120 now, problem free. New top end and clutch this winter at 150 is the plan and then ride it all next year. With the Lucky Gen1s and the Radius CX clutch it's perfect for me.
You can always tune out the punchy hit and engine braking to make the bike smoother. But without that power on hand, it’s a lot harder to make it.

I’ll agree I don’t want my 350 to feel like a 450, I’d prefer the quick revving light feel. But I’m sure after a couple rides the new engine will feel just fine

I’ll agree I don’t want my 350 to feel like a 450, I’d prefer the quick revving light feel. But I’m sure after a couple rides the new engine will feel just fine
Keefer said it still feels much lighter then the 450 so I don’t think they lost too much of that feeling.

The new 350 also comes with a 52 rear sprocket which I just tried on my 22 and that makes a big difference as well . I'd be interested to see a comparison of the 22 -23 with same gearing

Honestly the black frame on my 23 KTM 350 looks really good! It is different than prior years. I picked up the 23 Husky FC350 yesterday and will ride it tomorrow at Washougal.

A patent can stop other companies from selling knock offs. It is possible they have patented the mounting scheme. Ktm plastic kits for the new bikes (no graphics) are listed at the same retail price as acerbis so at least for now there is not really a good reason to use aftermarket plastic.

They also patented the TBI two stroke. If my German was better I could read them and get more details. I don't know if they will need US patents or if the German ones are good here.
It would not cover the US unless ktm filed for a patent with the US patent office. I’m pretty sure though when you file for a world wide patent (more then one country) like ktm has done. You get a certain amount of time time file in different countries I believe. I have two utility patents here in the US. Even if ktm doesn’t get granted any payments at the end of the day, they are still covered until the patent office rejects it. Which is at min a year out from filing.

Ok here is my first ride and race report on the new 2023 FC350. I raced at Washougal with zero time on the bike at practice. I raced 5 motos for the weekend. During morning practice, I took 3 laps on the 23 and 3 laps on my 22 FC350 that has a fully built engine. I decided to ride the 23 as it has more bottom end power and better throttle response. After riding the bike all weekend, I would say it is a very big improvement in the power category. I had plenty of power everywhere! The handling was also fine, and I had no issues with the bike. I had my cone valve forks on it and stock shock. I found that it hooked up very well and the track was very rough.

I did not have the KTM with me on the trip because I only had room for 2 bikes on this trip and I was picking up the new FC350 in Oregon. I feel the power is similar though from when I did ride my KTM last week. I felt comfortable on the FC350 all weekend.

Oh, the seat cover on the FC350 sucks! The KTM seat cover is much nicer.
