I was thinking the game might be pretty good with some of the videos posted this last week but then watching that last video and a couple of others on YouTube I am not so optimistic now.

It looks like the video linked above may have been using an older build possibly?

Giveaway for me was that there was no terrain deformation and I was like wtf....sif even consider it if it doesnt have terrain deformation...so quick google shows that is does have it.

And I dunno it's actually looking okay to me...bike sounds could use some work.

Edit: omg at the load times !!! Not good even on next gen.

Might be a different build of the game. The video you linked to sure looks better than the Team VVV video. I have the game pre-ordered and was hoping it would unlock tonight at 9:00 pm PST like most Xbox games but they posted on their Facebook page it will not unlock till 6:00 am PST. tomorrow morning.

Holy crap did anyone else notice how many nationals tracks was on that list. Had to be atleast 20-30 considering he didn’t even scroll to the bottom of the list

Yeah apparently they are all on different builds/versions. I've seen at least 3 different physics, which is really weird and confusing and I don't understand why they gave out so many different pre builds to streamers and youtuber etc, it's just awkward to watch and figure out.

Windham has BY FAR the best physics in his version, I hope they bring them like that and not like in the 2 videos above.

So yeah the physics in the above look tidy...but again we are back to what looks like no terrain deformation in that clip.

Considering the date of the video being brand new it sure is confusing.

So, since the game is out, who’s played it and can give some opinions? I’d rather hear from randoms on here than guys on YouTube that were given early access, who are likely to just say positive things so they’ll get early access the next time around.

Looks good so far imo but I'm going to wait until I get some user feedback on the AI, especially in regards to consistency. Multiplayer generally just isn't my thing and I don't want to be winning by 45 seconds one minute, only to get annihilated on the very next track etc.

Well, I guess I should have seen this coming, but once again it is one step forward and two steps backs. I think the physics feel pretty good and are more in line with reality as far as speed is concerned. However, it seems they've decided track deformation wasn't very important, so that's completely gone. I ran a five lap race at Red Bud just to test it, and it's now just like the Milestone games where the surface of the track looks like an image with zero discernable deformation.

The developers now have more advanced technology at their disposal than ever before and we actually get less features, including one of the most important ones imaginable. I just do not understand what the hell these people are thinking when they make these games.

Just ran a few races, my first impression - it needs a little work in a few places, but overall I think it will end up being a good game. First person view is awesome, feels great!

Played for an hour on PS5 before work today, and it fucking stinks. Rider movement is very odd and stiff, bike sounds are shockingly worse than previous versions, air movement got worse also…it blows my mind how we regress with every game.

DON'T BELIEVE Start Your Systems or that Windham hack on YouTube, they get free copies and tons of exposure for sugar coating these games, it’s not real.

Now I need to figure out how to get a refund on the PS store and go back to MX bikes or Reflex.

It should release in like an hour and a half on steam (pc). I'ma get it and just mess around a bit. Not super hyped on it but i checked the achievements list and that looked doable so might try to 100% it on steam achievements!

Watched 4 or 5 different videos from different players now, and i absolutely wont buy anything that looks like this.

Almost no gear, wonky sounds, movement and hardly any customization? If its on sale in the near future after few updates, then maybe.

Kinda sucks to see, i spent alot of time and money for DLC on All Out and so far this looks way worse

It's terrible, honestly. And after watching some of the Windham videos I really thought it was going to be good.

While it wasn't quite perfect, I fully enjoyed the last installment and played it a ton. I thought it was a lot of fun and had great re-play-ability. This game is just plain boring. To me, nothing about the tracks, physics, or racing is satisfying. The design of the game itself is agonizingly slow paced.

I know from experience that these MVA games tend to get better as you go, but the physics are horrible. I seriously don't get it. Rider seems like he is on a stick and rider/bike just bounce straight up and down. Bouncing off of jump faces, sliding around in corners. It reminds me of MX 2002 ft RC but with better graphics. Speaking of graphics.. Idk how but definitely a step backwards. I did an event and the quality of the other characters around me seriously made me feel like I was back on PS2/3

Has anyone above made sure they went to tuning, and bought the third/highest upgrade for traction as well as bought the third/highest upgrade for the chassis? Makes the bike a lot more sticky on the ground and more free as it should be. Not saying perfect but much much better.

Just played the game….

Anyone here want to start a new ip called atv vs mx and just develop the game ourselves?

Edit. I mean if they just got rid of this Jeremy McGrath ps1 traction it would be decent. Graphics are good. Tracks are cool. Jumping is weird but it’s doable. The traction and acceleration kill it though.
