Providing that we can build them. The chip shortage is very real. I’m seeing the results of it almost daily.

And the Maverick is an awesome truck ( I’m biased though) and I plan on ordering the hybrid version once it opens back up.

Yup!

The Hybrid is 2WD only; but, it's FWD...so...it'll do fine if you're skilled in the old school of "Driving your VW Rabbit to the ski slopes!"
Woohoo

I'm putting a Lariat on the books and I guess I'll just have to wait. Fully built out the way I want: $33K
(Yes, even silly shit like the Console Vault for my Glock...it's ALL in there!)

We currently have a new Escape Titanium Hybrid AWD: 43.6 MPG lifetime mlg! My wife drives it from Dana Point to Newport everyday...up-n-down the PCH...the car gets epic mlg. Once you learn how to maximize the electric systems regenerative capabilities...? You can get those so-called "EPA numbers"...ALL DAY.

Ford's Hybrid system is pretty damn cool.

Eventually I'm gonna get a Hybrid F-150 w/6.5' bed and make an E-Raptor...

My hybrid Maverick is supposed to be built this month, it will be replacing my Ranger. I drive a Cruze for my main though...36mpg has always been nice.

Went to Battle Park in Nesmith ,SC this past weekend for the AHRMA National --

** Approx 1400 mile round trip from Pittsburgh

** Outlaw averaged 8.6 MPG loaded with 4 bikes -gear, etc

** Used 164 gallons of fuel at an average of 4.29/gal

** Cost us $ 705 for fuel

** Would have been $ 457 at 2.79/gal 2 years ago

** Thats $ 248 more.

** Is that enough to keep us from going ? Obviously not. If we had 12 races that were same distance away that would come in right at $ 3,000.00 more . Would that make a difference ?? Probably not, but if it goes up any further ....
** The upside is that my daughter had another dominating performance winning all 4 of her races by large marginsCool

Yes sir, been driving a FWD Focus for years. Never been an issue, even during heavy snow here in Michigan.

And since that post things have changed here a bit. The transmission went out on the old girl after 242,000 miles on Friday. So I picked up a 2019 Fusion Hybrid on Monday. Low mileage lease turn in and I love it. I’m 76 miles a day round trip and I’m getting 44 mpg. As you said, I’m still learning the feeling of driving it.

I knew I’d love it though, my kid bought one last June. We now have two at the house, a grey and a blue. Really nice car and it’s a shame that we don’t build them anymore.

I love my Maverick so far... have had it since November and it fits 2 bikes no issues with ramp/gas/gear, etc. Just went out to Horn Rapids and did a 600 mile round trip, 23mpg (not hybrid version) on winter gas going 75 mph the whole way with heavy winds in the gorge. With single bike and if I went 65mph its closer to 27mpg... 30-32mpg with just a full cabin. I had a hyrbid on order but had my Ranger stolen so picked this one up off a cancelled special order. Hybrid version will be sweet, they get 5-600 miles per tank on a 13 gallon tank.

I would not cry with 6 dollars.
The area of the US is over 3 million square miles vs 173,000 for Sweden. The distances we need to drive are way beyond anything in Europe. And almost nothing runs on diesel due to our EPA (therefore we burn way more fuel).

$6 gas here is like $20 gas in Sweden.

Solar panels covering 80 acres looks horrible. That is so shameful to Mother Earth. In Tn. Everyone is driving 85-95 mph yet. The rates r really low. Yet fuel is 1.50 higher than gas. There pushing for electric trucks yet there is not a single charging station .last I heard the batteries weigh 40k . Now you need more trks on the rd because they can’t haul much cargo. Not much for pay for installing solar fields 80k for a supervisor. I delivered to 119 Nottingham rd elkton Md. a narrow non trk route rd. It was a field for a solar panels. There is more structure than you would think. I said it looks horrible and where are the wildlife and deer supposed to graze and eat now. He said Americans love solar fields. I said naitive Americans don’t. He didn’t like it but it’s true . When your driving you won’t see deer or animals in a field anymore.

I wanted maximum mileage. I’ve driven a Focus for the past 11 years that gave me consistent 38 mpg. I wasn’t going to get that out of a Bronco Sport. Not even close. My Fusion Hybrid is getting 44mpg.

Bump.

3 months later, prices still going up.

Anyone cancelled plans yet?

I have, was gonna hit a NORCS at Washougal next weekend but I think I'll hit the local hillybilly race that's 5 minutes away instead even though it won't be nearly the quality of event as NORCS.

Nothing cancelled yet but at almost $5 a gallon Im now starting to consider just hitting the local races and saying screw it to running the full district schedule at this point. Its starting to feel that just because I can afford to go doesn't really mean I should. Theres a local series I can run a full schedule on 15 minutes away rather than driving the entire state chasing the district stuff.

Still going to Spring Creek though. Not missing that.

Not bein' a smart ass...
Not even kidding...
On a strange side-note:

I'm flying MORE. Grinning

Because, it is cheaper!

I'm talking about my SoCl to NorCal commute (Dana Point to Redding).

I -LOVE- driving the Eastern Sierra, unloading a bike somewhere around Bishop-Mammoth and exploring; But, that requires my Transit (16-20 mpg), ZR2 (16-18) or Raptor (12-14 mpg)...and it's about 1,600 mi R/T from Dana Point to Redding goin' that route. Ummm...not too cost effective as of late!
That's $500-800 worth of fuel if I make good time...remember, we've got $6+ gas out here!
Pinch
But...if I fly from OC to Redding? I'm averaging around $400-500 R/T. That makes way too much sense.
(It would/could be cheaper if I pulled my head out of my a$$ and booked EARLIER!)

My cheapest and still real fun method? My KLR Adventure...leave REALLY early in the a.m. & explore alllll the various routes. I'm gonna do that about every 3 weeks and it'll only cost around $250 in fuel and it's a really fun way to spend a day...a day each way...
The Eastern Sierra is too much fun.

Can you "carpool" to The Shoug?

The Eastern Sierra is a very special place! I miss my days as a ski/moto bum at Mammoth, but then Mammoth isn't the same as it was in the 90's.

My suspension is taking aprox 3 + weeks to get , I still do don’t hv it. Other orders r screwed up that cost 3 weeks. I,m not cancelling anything. Plans for Millville, Racer X vet series and District 16 Wi.and the UP Michigan yet. A little vid of the rd trip and a few clips of some 125 racing will prob b a big hit on yt. Since a lot will not b traveling to the races. You could start a courier buisness and write your gas off. A LLc buisness only cost 350 on zen buisness, it’s easy to do. I did it.

Must have been nice to have 4.30 a gallon we were already in the 4.70 range in March. Where now 5.89 here in Chiraq. Will be over 6.50 if not 7.00 by 4th of july.

Right now I'm spending just in fuel alone a extra 800 A month. At this rate we're figuring our per vehicle cost will be about 8-9k more then trump years.
Idk about you but I know alot ofxthings I'd rather do with 8k then spend it in gas.

I haven't cancelled any plans since I haven't got to ride at all this year so far in the PNW...
First it was winter and now it's been raining every dam weekend. So I've saved a ton of money so far by not riding.
I will def be riding whenever I can when the weather is good.

I'll see ya at the vet series. Gonna pass on Dutch cause I just started riding after 18 months off on Saturday. But I'll be ready for red bud and sunset. Still pissed byron flaked out on the series.
I,m surprised they didn’t add a race with Byron out. Our trk yard is in Elk Grove village I got fuel at the bensenville pilot. I gassed up up my pv there also. It was cheaper than fuel in Indiana. There’s a few small pilots in Chicago land check the price from pilot fuel by state. The weather here is cold and raining. I,m just going to race I haven’t ridden since 12 all my bikes where stolen 4-13. Who needs practice. Haha

I raced 14 times last year and so far this year I’ve raced once. Have one race a month that I might go to if I’m feeling ok on the bike. Was thinking about replacing the Express van with a truck and small toy hauler a year or so ago. Now it’s not even a consideration and I have no desire to do anything with how expensive everything has gotten. Truck prices are ridiculous just like gas. FJB. This world is going down the shitter fast.

Creeping up on $7 a gallon for 91 in my area (my truck hates 87). I've now resorted to driving our 2016 Honda civic touring instead of my RAM because $700 a month just to get to work and back is insane. Sick

The elephant in the room that no one wants to address is what's happening to our country. Our Republic is under attack from within and most don't care nor want to talk about it. I come from a country that is no more because of extreme leftist ideologies and hate seeing what is transpiring here. Anyway, Ill stop there since we aren't really allowed to spouse anything not moto, but these events Are affecting our moto life...

I am definitely cutting back on my riding because of gas prices. Looking for a cheap 4 cylinder truck, but none to be had so far...
