My wife is cool with it. On occasion she tries to ride and actually got her motorcycle license this year. When I got busted up and said I was done, sold my stuff, a couple months later she told me to get another bike, your miserable! That was 12 years ago(my accident, we’ve been together since 2002, the first picture was that year at her first race she attended with me) and she still “let’s” me ride. She was by my side while in the hospital and I am by her side while she battles cancer. Support your partner and...
I listened to the whole thing on a drive, thought it was good. I got to ride with Bob a lot in Bean canyon in the early 80s, and what you got was exactly how I remember him. The word Jap was probably the least offensive thing he said, I’d probably worry more about how he talked about women. One thing you need to know, the motocross industry in his time referred to the Japanese guys as the japs, literally everyone said it. Plus, he’s what, 62? I fairly certain his dad would’ve used the term too, my dad did...
I had a 69 Camaro 73 - 77. I joined the Air Force in 76 when I was 19. Drove that Camaro with bumper racks with my 73 TM250 Suzuki on the back from NC to AZ. The shot here is at Canyon Raceway sometime in late 76. After that sometime in 77, I bought a new Datsun PU and used 76 RM250 Suzuki. This shot is outside Gilbert AZ somewhere in the desert.
50 years ago, Richard Nixon was president and we were still in the Vietnam war. Here is the level of fun in 1973… about half a century ago… 1973 CR250M and 1973 Chevy Camaro RS Z28. No internet, no smart phones, no cable tv even, but we didn’t think we were missing out on anything!
Thanks for the nice words. Can’t wait for you guys to see/hear DV’s show… probably one of the best we’ve ever had. His recollection of events is stunning and the things that were going on his family shocked me. We’ve got a lot of cool stuff coming. 👊🏼
Electric bikes should be the least of our worries by 2035. Electrical curfews, blackouts and sky high utility bills are just the tip of the ice berg. Californians, you think the drought is bad now? Wait until they’re using 500,000 gallons of grade A H2O to mine these batteries. And let’s not forget about the 10 year life span, and the amount of batteries in landfills, landfill fires and who knows what else. Buckle up boys, the only thing green about this movement is the politicians pockets.
I quit riding not long after David Bailey's injury in 1987. Sold everything, quit following moto, got completely away from the sport. Played golf. A LOT of golf. Threw myself into work. Had 2 kids. Learned what non-moto people did on Sunday. Then I got a call from my doctor one day in 2000 while I was driving thru San Antonio on the interstate. Sir, we hate to tell you...but your that mole biopsy was malignant Melanoma. We have you set up to see a surgeon and an Oncologist. I was 40. I delt with that for the next 12...
Thank you. This has been my main bitch for 20 years. I'm Looking at you DC. Loretta's has turned into a shit show and dick measuring of who can throw out the most money. This started when the 250F Four strokes appeared. It has culminated to this. I get that they don't want to be found out they are using XX for whatever, I would say it's becoming clear they are playing next level and Yes, this is CHEATING. If you are going to call it Amateur Racing - Make it AMATEUR. Then make this class Pro-sport. let the heavy...
