Cairoli on Pirelli.

Edited Date/Time 5/27/2022 12:19pm
Anyone notice?

At the moment it looks like Cairoli will be on Pirelli whilst the rest of the team are on Dunlop.

Have we ever seen a US factory KTM on Pirelli before? (Aside from Wildcard appearances from JH)

If you want to count JGR as factory, they were a Pirelli team.

Honestly.... what makes this a big deal? The guy races on Pirelli's and why should it change... because he's in America?

I don’t remember which team but js7 was on perelli at some point. I remember him running Dunlop during practice and it being a big deal.

Asking someone to change tire is probably significant for guys at this level.

Antonio Cairoli is technically running the looks and brands of his MXGP partnerships. While minor, if you look closely at his bike it isn’t the graphics scheme of the Us team. The graphics are down by Scrub Designs, the bike has Airoh, Thor and Pirelli logos onboard, along with Comsa, Athena, Brisk and a couple other brands.

There’s been a Pirelli semi and trailer parked across the street from me (just down the road from KTM) this past week. I wondered whether they were here in support of AC.

They are there for the national in general. A few teams and privateers do use pirelli.

That truck has been going to every Supercross and National for a few years now.

Pirelli supports a decent amount of teams.

Doesn't Pirelli run off the shelf tires for their riders and not "works" spec like Dunlop? Or does Toni get the good stuff somehow? I

Pirelli does do protos occasionally. We raced a tire last season which became available this year and is labeled as their Stadium tire.

What Cairoli will be racing will be a production off-the-shelf tire. Same as Herlings did when he was here a few years ago.

Most of MXGP teams are using Pirelli and mousse not tubes.

In US outdoors, pretty much everyone runs at least a rear Mouse.

RC rode with Bridgestone well on HRC Honda “they were Dunlop supported team” but they tried to hide it and was a big shit show when he got caught

Not factory factory KTM, but the BTO-KTM team (aka BBMX) circa 2014-2016/Andrew Short years were running Pirelli on more or less a factory KTM.

I love Pirelli personally, I find them as good as Dunlop ride wise but last longer.

I ran a Pirelli MX32 mid-soft, it's a bloody fantastic tyre so much grip I couldn't believe how good it was, the only problem I found with it was longevity , that tyre wears out fast. Currently trying a MX32 mid-hard to see if I get longer life out of it, so far so good. I would recommend if anyone hasn't tried a Pirelli they should.

Run max 32 mid-soft front and mid hard on rear. It will last longer. But that mid soft is amazing up front. The tires are lighter and have a softer carcass than Dunlop.

JGR Yamaha. It was a rear Dunlop painted with pirelli logos on it. Dunlop guy noticed it and blew the whistle.

Post a reply to: Cairoli on Pirelli.
