I'm sorry man.... a 2 stroke is the sound of MX and always will be.

In the timeless prose of Jeff Spicoli.... "Awesome!! Totally awesome!!!!"

Interesting rev limiter sound at 1:27.
Sounds great though.

Wow. A researched, developed and manufactured, motocross specific production 2-stroke open bike in 2022.

Kinda brings a tear to my eye.

Can't wait for a closer look.

Won’t really know til it’s mass produced and in the hands of customers. Almost every new bike has oddities to be sorted

KTM. Doing the work the Japanese manufacturers just won't do.

The Japanese seem to be absolutely playing follow the leader with each other. Thinking inside the box x10. Some credit to Yamaha for being slightly more open to changes....

I'm with ya. Waiting for reviews. I'd sell my YZ250 in a heartbeat.

Little off topic, can you share the GoPro settings? That video is nice.

After homologation Would the 300SX be legal in the 450 Nationals?

No. 250cc is still the limit for two strokes in the premier / 450 class.

And isn't that pathetic.

Got to keep these 'handicap class' rules in place, and keep those scary 300cc strokes away from those 450 4 strokes......... when will this idiocy end?

At this point, who is holding up the 250 2 stroke into the 250 class and an open 2 stroke into the 450 class? This is just politics at its worst… maybe not so much in the 450 class but the 250 class would be a breathe of fresh air to privateers and level out the HP and cost associated with competing….

So the rumor has been that if like displacement 2 strokes were allowed some manufactures threatened to take their ball and go home. Any validity to that rumor?

Who exactly is responsible for the 250cc and 125cc limits sticking around? AMA? MX Sports? Where do we send our angry letters?

My 2 cents as a former owner of a couple KTM first year releases. I'd wait at least a model year before taking the plunge. I feel they rush things to production, find out what worked, what failed then correct from there. The TPI models are a fine example of that.

They should call Honda's bluff, there's no way they quit just because some equal rights 2 Strokes show up, especially with all the Lawrence related publicity they're getting in the class.

Sweet video regardless.

The Japanese manufactures that don’t produce 2 strokes would throw a shit fit and threaten to leave racing. Manufactures pull is the reason it will never ever change.

Sounds like a problem they created for themselves.

I noticed that too. 2stroke stand up jet skis used to have rev limiters, seems perfectly reasonable to have one here as well.

I definitely think it’s reasonable and a good idea.
Just one of the noticeable differences I could spot right away is all.
Hopefully it’s a soft limit rather than a hard one.

Japan is not concerned with external manufacturing competition in the same way westerners are with respect to motocross bikes. They are mostly focused on competition inside Japan. Its the culture.
