Also horn is my home track so I might be a little biased towards newer tracks that I haven’t been riding for 20 years on basically the same layout
That's true lol

That was one of those tacky goodness days there with clouds and no wind. Track stayed awesome all day long and the grip was unreal. 2 years ago now I think. Haven't ridden it this year at all, and last year was jacked with all the damn wildfire slash they dumped on it.

Horn is cool but also 4+ hours. Last time cost me $300 in gas due the the damn headwinds in the gorge.

I repeat, FVCK.

That gorge is brutal, the last time I went to 'Shougal there was damn white caps coming up the river and my truck was wide open into the wind the whole time...kept waiting for my camper to catch a gust and swap out Laughing

Mt. View really is the best when it stays cloudy all day. Stays tacky and traction for days. Other than that it turns to pebbles and concrete lol.

Towards the end of last season the track was better, seems like they either removed most of the wood chips or they were worked in to the soil. Wasn't too bad. It still wasn't a good idea to put them on in the first place though.

We came back from Horn into a solid 40MPH headwind all the way west thru the gorge. My F150 had to downshift 3 times to maintain 60MPH and I was getting 7 MPG. I used a full 36 gal tank to go 220 miles. Expensive damn weekend.

All I’ve been muttering to myself lately is, “I just want to ride my fucking dirt bike”. The Midwest has had a long ass winter & now wet/wild spring. 30-40 degree days have flipped to 90 degrees here today in Minnesota after 2 inches of rain overnight. Still waiting on those much heralded lineman to bring power back to the city. Hope we can all ride soon whenever you are!

First race was last weekend in Big Sandy, MT! Little rain didn’t stop the boys in C class and by the time we hit the course it was pretty dusty.

Dirt is perfect over here in central Oregon, we dream of springs like this. Hit up high desert or I ride singletrack mid-week if you want to hit trail.

No sir, but I watched the boys try and ride the Bentonite in Billings in the rain the weekend before last and I didn’t want any part of it! 😂

Dude bentonite is unreal. It swells up huge we use it to seal the surface on water wells so we can make sure the aquifer doesn’t get contaminated. Nasty nasty nasty

Grew up in the deserts of So Cal. Lived in a few places since then. Moved to Washington state in 2012 and enjoyed my time there. As of January I live in Las Vegas and it really does make me appreciate the weather up there.

Find a sand pit, that’s what we do on the east coast. I used to hate the rain living in northern California, now I am always hoping for rain so the sand tracks are wet.

Bummer about everything being cancelled, but it’s not like we can’t use the rain with all the droughts going on.

I'm not aware of any sand pits anywhere on the west side of the Cascades until you get close to the beaches. It's all clay. Our track is 2' of topsoil over bottomless clay. When it's wet it is unrideable. Oh, it looks good until you go into bowl turn 1 on the high line and slide right up and over the berm. Deer guts on a greased door knob slick. I mix in a good bit of sawdust and fine woodchips to help loam it up. The Shoug and Mountainview are the same basically.

The 2 "sand" tracks we have are really volcanic ash and they destroy chains, sprockets, and tires since it's like riding in wet 80 grit. Both have a really hard base too so traction comes and goes. Woodland can be good but I avoid Riverdale.

This looks like eastern PA. Rained so much in the last few years I have moss growing on my asphalt driveway.

Here in western NY it's usually still muddy and wet. We rode Wednesday and it was dusty, like it would be at the end of summer dusty. Seems like spring is shorter every year.

It's a bummer that Clark County indoor got shutdown. It's been awhile since 17?
Not sure what the deal with the Salem arenacross shutdown long ago in 03? I thought maybe it was coming back? Because they were letting them do flat track in the arena again this past year or two maybe covid killed it?

Was a couple failed indoors tracks early 2000's moto 321 in woodland. Closed 03?
Moto 26? That short lived indoor place out towards banks rode it once. Kinda scary it was lined with huge hay bails that weren't very forgiving. Closed 06?

Used to be a track in Longview from like 02 till 07? Down by the river don't think it was supposed to really be there. You could ride on the river beach up to the water. Riding on the water flood bars. Closed over permits of lack of.

The indoor track Lynnwood motoplex and like the pro wheels guys opened in Arlington smokey point inside that warehouse. Like 03 maybe into early 04.

Burnt ridge reopening in 04.

It was awesome then but since those days it's been pretty stagnation city since. Cadillac ranch was cool but nobody showed up when it counted (county court hearing for track support greenies sure did though)

And the ridge opening but then closing down after only a few years hurt.

Why someone isn't jumping all over burnt ridge and reopening it not sure because it be prime for it.
Other tracks have been slacking people love that place. Open it they will come.

Yes, wasn't much different than riding on my grandpa's frozen pond.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it's only raining where there aren't any droughts. Unless you use the water supplied by the rain?

My wife lives on the conspiracy side of life (yes, sometimes it sucks). But when you have had lowland snow in March in Seattle, and have had massive hail storms daily for dang near 2 months straight (literally), and into May, some crazy shit going on, this is *nowhere* near normal, makes you scratch your head if some of the nutty stuff you hear about and think is impossible isn't so far fetched..

What really sucks, it always seems to show up on the damn weekends Sad My bike is getting dusty...

Precisely why I am still running my clapped out chain and sprockets. Im not going to subject my new tires and drive train to that ash. Probably unsafe to still be on my current chain lmao

Another La Nina summer 3rd one a row should have cycled into a el nino pattern which would have been warmer. Gonna be a cooler wetter summer they're predicting.

I miss the desert everyday man. I moved to the Capital region 1.5yr ago and I haven’t ridden my MTB since last September.

I think we’ve had like 2 weekends where the weather hasn’t been shit this year..forecasting rain all of this weekend Pinch
