Portland International Raceway's Thursday Night Motocross has just cancelled for the 5th WEEK STRAIGHT! They've never had more than 3 stopped by weather before.

It was the wettest April on record for Portland. May is already on track to beat the record easily. Every track up here has had to cancel/postpone multiple events already in 2022. I don't think MountainView has run once. LL Quals at Washougal ran on the grass field last weekend cause the track was not rideable. No one is getting any damn seat time to speak of.

Our track has been rideable 1-2 days a week with some good luck but I have sections that are hard to till w/o burying the tractor, and then develop 1' deep ruts. Prepped and rode last night and it was awesome but that's it for the next 4-5 days. Those clouds in the back of the shot are dumping rain on us right now. FVCK!

Agreed. The weathers been pretty unusual, and not in a favorable way. We’re a little further north and woke up to frost 2 mornings in the last week, and all the random heavy rain dumps has been making it pretty hard to plan anything.

Yes I know one of those bs years again we get occasionally. It won't be nice hopefully by early July! Last time this happened old timers got rained out. So behind on riding I've done written off taking anything serious as far as racing goes at old timers.

Enjoy your 3 weeks of summer we're gonna have this year.

No wonder why I feel depressed. I haven't rode since Thanksgiving. I'm waiting for all the tracks to open but week after week it's wet. I'll be heading to High Desert MX this week, supposed to be warm and sunny! You're very lucky you have a private track.

Grew up in Central PA and yeah, October thru May were usually downtime. This year is the worst I've seen in the 7 years I've lived here.

Only sand here is Woodland, and they are closed for the "summer" (winter-only track) and Riverdale which is sketchy and boring, and too far a drive given both those.

Garage time for me I guess this weekend.

All the sunshine, none of the water. Lol

It’s been hard to get any seat time, seems our nicest days have been weekdays lately, then it’s back to rain for the weekend 🙄

My wife has commented on my "bitchiness". I really rely on moto as an outlet and escape from the stress of work and daily life, now more than ever. W/o it I am a cranky old man. I am very thankful I have some private track options where I can drive a tractor and then shred it.

It's been weird even back here in NorCal. Canceled races/practices because of wind, and even recently because of rain. NOT a usual happening in May.

Rained at my kids baseball game Tuesday and then called it due to lightning, but now it's supposed to be 94° on Sunday. Feels like Florida but without the humidity 😂

I was speaking to a rancher here in my community the other day, in 60 years he has never seen the wind that we are experiencing. The weather otherwise has been very cooperative, but I am too old to jump my bike in gusty 40-50 mph wind.
We do have plenty of trails to ride, but that isn't very fun , at least to me.

The wind has been wild. Split my neighbors mulberry in half. Just had snow fall in the foothills last week too. Looks like we have some warmer weather coming up.... shaka!

Oregon is the nation's top producer of blackberries. Also a lot of marionberry, raspberry, and blueberries. Farmers here are worried that the crop might not survive the rain. At some point it molds on the plant and you are done. Clover crop (another huge export) is also in trouble. We've only had 4 days over 70 this year and should be hitting 80 by now.

Long term forecast this morning says a stuck high pressure zone over Arizona/New Mexico will stay in place and we will see more cool/wet weather for the next 2 weeks. It's 48f and raining outside right now. May damn 12th!

Go race at horn this weekend?

Community MX has their opening weekend Saturday and Sunday also. Not sure where you are sounds like close to Portland so might be a bit if a drive but it’s something

We have had a tonnnn of rain for the east side of the state this spring. I’m loving it though makes for some good times at juniper and horn rapids. The weeds are god awful this year though can’t hardly keep up

A not-simple 6 hour drive for me. Nope.

Horn is cool but also 4+ hours. Last time cost me $300 in gas due the the damn headwinds in the gorge.

I repeat, FVCK.

Every time I see one of your posts I see your profile picture with the corner at Mt. View before the finish line and it reminds me how much more I want to ride.

Can’t say yet as I haven’t rode the revamped layout but I preferred i90 over horn rapids. Horn has a bit better Dirt but I liked i90s layout much better

Also horn is my home track so I might be a little biased towards newer tracks that I haven’t been riding for 20 years on basically the same layout

I was in Portland a couple weekends ago. Saturday afternoon driving in on I-84 my GPS started flashing warnings about "Flood Ahead!" on the freeway. Wasn't quite a flood, but damn close. Kept raining biblical proportions the rest of the day.

Sunday was nearly perfect, though! Did the One Moto show and the weather was fantastic.

Glad to live back on the east side of the Cascades!!!!!!!
