RC on the Dale Jr podcast mentioned our sport not having pit stops is one of the differences between SX/MX and NASCAR. Got me thinking about something I read during my lurking days someone posted a MX legend suggested pit stops but I can't remember who suggested it.
Before dismissing it just think about the joker lane and the excitement it provided the year both RV and RD5 forgot to take the joker lane. Surprised their memory loss didn't kick start mechanic to rider communication but that's a topic for another day

He's talking about adding a gimmick to the racing, thinking that's going to make it more exiciting for the fans ??
What fans, the new ones they're trying to attrack, that don't seem to be flocking to our sport in droves ???
Nascar died a slow death beginning in 2000 when they began the obsession of "new fans", at the detriment of the real fans who'd been loyal to the sport for decades.
Same with moto.
Their broadcast style is aiming towards n00bs.
It ain't happening.
Look around, there were more empty seats last weekend, than full.
And at a race where a local hero was going to be crowned champion.
Pit stops ??
Hahahahahahahahaaaaaaa

I don't have a horse in the race so dont give a you know what one way or the other what they do with the MEC. After almost fifty years of being a fan guess I am looking for something different than the way they've always done it to change things up. And this is why I have always been a big fan of the MEC.
Pit Row
Dumb idea.
