Is that his actual factory bike or a replica?

It’s a combo bike. His 04 setup with the 05 engine.

Not his real factory bike. Built up replica. I titled it the same way they did.

Bellbottom forks! Won't find those anywhere. Such a cool video. Pretty much what I expected. Makes me miss my 2 stroke already haha.

I’d put money on him having a better lap time at St Louis on that bike than Stank on his ‘22

There’s just something about the sound of a two stroke 250 blitzing the whoops that will never get old to me.

His comments on the whoops was interesting. Although what he was riding through looked fairly tame (for him), it makes you think about the direction they've gone with geometry changes on the 4 strokes over the years. More weight on the front wheel and razor sharp turning prowess... Sacrificing stability in many ways I think.

I'll tell you what, my '22 Honda is super fun to ride and even more so with the changes I made to add some stability to it, but it will never come close to the absolute assuredness I had with my YZ through any rough section. On the flip side the YZ was often difficult to get through corners while the Honda pretty much corners for me. Just completely different animals!

Can we get Chad to take his YZ to an SX and show some of these current guys how to hit whoops properly?

Video is good. No songs or sounds other than that beautiful 250 2 stroke sound.

DAMN!! That sounds amazing. And...Reedy proves once again that he is still a monster in the whoops.

I couldn't stop smiling 1 min into the vid. So awesome.

Is it just me or was he going faster than on his 450? It just proves Reed comes from the era of having to master bike skill instead of just having to tame the horsepower.

I remember hearing back then every pro rider that rode those early 2000s yamaha factory 2 stroke bikes said they were the best 2 stroke factory bikes ever built. I think DV and Reed said 03 was the last best year chassis the last steel frame the aluminum didn’t handle as good

Would love to see Feld/AMA let him rip in quali this weekend. Throw him in B if need be, see where his times stack up (on either bike), then let him make the decision whether to line up based on that, if that's even something hes looking at. If he's a no go, the next rider in line takes the spot. No harm, no foul.

Killer video.

Even a few demo laps would be awsome.

Why is Chad trimmer now, than his last few racing seasons?

All seems right in the world seeing That big “22” on a YZ250….

I think if the four stroke revolution had come 10 years later than it did…Reed would have a couple more supercross championships…he and that YZ smoker were awesome…and I think the four strokes kind of hurt him a bit.

We all have our own opinions on CR22 but he rips a 2 stroke. That video solidifies why I enjoy my 02 CR250 so much. With proper setup, they are so fun to ride.

I hope 2 strokes never die.

A crisp 2 stroke on the pipe is pure moto to me. Brings back so many memories.

Reed said it at the end of the video, 2 strokes seem to be so much more stable through the whoops.

How can you not like Reed! Man, we went down a rabbit hole that just added cost & complexity to Mx/Sx…there will never be a better bike for Sx than the 250 Two stroke…that track is no joke👍

My son and I were fortunate enough to be riding at Moto40 on a day CHAD was practicing for the Paris SX. Here’s a quick video I took that day. He’s fast on both bikes...but the two stroke just seems “right”. It’s great that he is still so involved in MX/SX. It seems like he truly wants to give back to the sport.

That sound will never get old.

There was just something about the factory Yamaha and Suzuki two strokes that gave you goose bumps from the purity.

Not sure if more happy or sad from that…
