The cut on my neck has healed but the separated AC still isn’t 100% but I think it will ok for the walker and cain walking.

Good luck, Lumpy. My dad had his knee replaced at 70 years old, and was up and moving not long afterwards. That was 3 or 4 years ago, and he hasn't had any issues since.

I just did my pre-op appointment on Thursday; bloodwork, ekg, etc. I couldn’t believe they send me home the same day. If you’re able to please post updates. I’m a little nervous about it. I’m 43, so a little younger than most that get it. The girlfriend and I are hitting up Florida and the Atlanta SX for a nice trip before my surgery.

All the different doctor hoops and tests they make you jump through is crazy. Its reassuring when you Heart doctor said I have a .1 % chance of having a heart attack and .3 % chance for any heart complications.

The way I look at it is this will be like a racer and getting a bad start and having to battle your way to get back to the front of the pack. I will be battling through recovery and therapy to get back to the front.

I’m in my early 60’s and have been avoiding knee replacement for 30 years after a Washington DC knee specialist told me to wait as long as you can because the technology is constantly improving.

The knee and hip center here in Charlotte is very impressive and my doctor treats all the Pro stick and ball teams, NASCAR and I would bet JGR athletes have been here too.

Still not sure what I will be getting for anesthesia spinal block and awake or knocking me out.

Still not sure if I will be in and out the same day or spending the night. Think it depends on what time the surgery is and how long it takes to walk and climb stairs required before leaving.

Here is my before X-ray

Our economical USPS shipping to Australia is still shut down due to Covid and now Covid variants so yes it has been extremely difficult. In order to ship out about a dozen Australia back orders on hold due to the shipping we had to change Australia shipping to more expensive UPS or they would still be sitting on my desk.

The post title is I downer! Reads like Motohose is closing in one week for good. Glad it is only temporary shutdown. I think we can understand supply chain issues for this reason. Bounce back quickly.

Day 3 was a pretty bad day. Sleep in our bed last night and my knee didn’t like it at all. I woke up stiff and in a lot of pain. Wife is ding a good job of making sure I take the pain meds. Had my 1st therapy today. She basically had me move as far as I could and took base measurements. Think it was 11 and 46 and I Have a feeling I am going to hate that woman.

I'm assuming full joint replacement? I had a left hip replacement done at 50 and HIGHLY recommend the superPATH procedure for you old farts thinking about it. Now I'm looking at a partial knee replacement on the same leg.
Damn skateboards.
Good luck with your recovery.

The first week or 10 days was a little tough but I just got moving on it. I was only on percocet for 3 days and then I only used it after PT. I was lucky, my PT said I was in the top 3 percentile for extension/flex recovery time. I was riding in 3 months with no problems. The worst of it was my reaction to anesthesia. I could even open my eyes without the room spinning and wanting to hurl. I had to stay overnight but was fine the next day. I wouldn't want to chance it though on my other knee. Had a friend do both knees 6 months apart. The first was easy, he was golfing in 6 weeks. The other was hell, 6 months before he could walk without pain. Same doctor, procedure, facility, PT, yada, yada.

Any tips you can provide going through it? Starting to get nervous for mine on the 28th. We made it to Griffin, GA and went to Camp Brewing for a few beers tonight before the race tomorrow. Glad it sounds like you're doing somewhat okay!

Lumpy, I hope you’re doing well! I’m getting nervous for surgery coming up. I’m so glad we got to go to Atlanta. My gf actually loved it! She really liked doing the track walk which surprised me. Speedway races have better tracks, viewing isn’t as good though. Heal up soon buddy!
