Shame one of those guys had to finish 2nd.
Good clean racing by both.
Damn broken cars! Ruined Alonso's race for sure. I do like these changes they made to the cars this year , as it's creating some close racing.
Well done to Max and RedBull.
Happy Sunday ya all...I'm off to bed.
Personally, I wouldn't be interested in wearing the clothing that he does. I'm also not the face of a multi-million dollar business.
It's quite impressive what he's been able to do inside the sport and out.
I assume you have valuable advice that would help the bottom line of his multi-million dollar business?
Watching the latest drive to survive all other drivers were representing the team & it’s sponsors but this feejit walks around like this.
I do like the watches Hamilton is often seen wearing, IWC Big Pilot. That looks like s limited edition version in the picture.
Again, I'm not a fan of much of what I see him wear...outside of his racing suit, but I get it.
I'd guess that Hamilton's presence and name outside of the sport is much, much larger than any other current driver, by far. He's more of a partner than a hired gun. With that comes a lot of choices.
Many people that say, "There is no way they'd wear what he wears", would wear it...for the right price.
Pit Row
Then your sponsored driver walks around in a clown suit. Do you think , that the vast , vast majority of the people on this planet , that follow this sport.......follow fashion trends like that? Do you think Mercedes and Rolex would be proud of Lewis wearing something like that......or completely and utterly embarrassed?
You know , I know , everyone knows......his choice of clothes looks like a clown suit. THAT right there , is enough for the VAST majority in the future to say " Yeah Lewis was awesome , but dressed like a complete idiot! ".
Maybe wear that shit after your career is over?
Personally I think the outfits look stupid, but i also like a bit of eccentricity in the sport. something different from the team kit most drivers turn up in.
The cars certainly appear to be delivering in their promise to create better racing and ease of following.
I was concerned that like some rule changes in the past, 1 team would get it right and be almost unbeatable for the year. but it looks like we are on track for a Thriller.
I think Max will get it done through the year, and I back RB to develop the car the best through the year.
I am hoping that next year they reduce the size of the DRS slot, i think the cars are capable of overtaking, so lets reduce the band aid fix to make the racing a little less artificial.
Main sponsor , Mercedes and other high dollar companies that sponsor Lewis......do you think they feel proud that he dresses like that in public? He's a multi world champion , in the highest paid , world wide motorsport on planet earth........ And you think it's cool to dress like a clown? One of the greatest race car drivers ever , dresses like an idiot.
Who cares? I can guarantee you that 99.9% of the people who follow this sport ,. Use him as a punchline in a joke.
It's not about " Now. ".......it's about 10 and 20 years from now doing an interview , and they show him wearing this stupid shit! Maybe carry yourself as the champion you are.....instead of being a punchline?
Are you always this passionate about what Mercedes, Petronas etc are getting for their money?
If you recall, he stated very publicly when he left Mclaren to go to Mercedes, who at the time were lower down on the grid, that one of the reasons he signed with Mercedes is that they were going to let him express him self more, and give him a lot more freedom to do as he pleases outside of the car. There is no chance Ron Dennis would have been ok with anything other than the team kit.
"Who cares? I can guarantee you that 99.9% of the people who follow this sport ,. Use him as a punchline in a joke" Interesting "stat".....but he seems pretty popular to me, just not around Vital. And given his success in the sport, i dont think he is a punchline of many jokes
Strange that some people get so upset about what he wears
The single most marketable driver in "the most expensive motorsport on the planet." is Lewis Hamilton.
Do you think, that the vast, vast majority of the people on this planet, that follow this sport.......follow fashion trends like that?. No, I don't. That is a major reason why you partner with Lewis Hamilton. He reaches other market$ and demographic$. Mature companies are normally looking to grow in every next quarter. Reaching new markets is a great way to do that. Lewis Hamilton fits that bill like nobody else in the paddock.
The fact that Lewis doesn't seem to be hurting for partnerships should tell you something. Wouldn't you think that the companies would walk away from his brand if it was hurting their bottom line?
To me, much of his fashion choices look kinda forced, but I understand it from a business point of view.
Why wait until his career is over when he can wear it now? I'd say going "against the grain" has worked out well for him so far. He's risen to the top of "the most expensive motorsport on the planet.", without prior familial pedigree.
He gets it. He doesn't have to like it, to understand it.
Isn't capitalism great, both parties can agree on terms, or part ways. Yet here we are 10 years later, Lewis and Merc are still working together.
The proof is in the pudding.
Also worth noting, has anyone seen what goes on at Milan fashion shows etc?
No body is walking down the catwalk in a nice pair of jeans and a well fitting white t shirt.
You have a driver that is (your words) a multi world champion, in the highest paid, world wide motorsport on planet earth. This driver partnered with your company partly because he wanted more autonomy than he had in his previous deal.
He works hard.
Good with the media.
Good with fans.
He brings better results than much of anyone prior for the company.
But.
You don't like his shorts.
You say? No deal?
You also say it's not about now, 😂? Now is when he's building his legacy and what he will be asked to discuss in 10, 20, 40 years from now. He'll probably be able to say that, "He did it 'his way'".
You can go into your long winded posts , just like every other topic you enter to try and change people's minds with this clown world bullshit.
Motorsports in general , and their fan base do not think like you do. No matter how hard you try , real moto heads on planet earth , don't think like you do.
Lewis dresses like a clown.
Fact.
I'm saying that they have to be embarrassed at the way he looks outside the car. And in 20 years from now with an interview on ESPN , they'll bring up those pics......
You'll see a half black dude , literally turn red from embarrassment.
