The fuel pump manufacturer mentioned a pick up problem at some point, before the race. McLaren inspected and replaced the fuel pump perhaps, Red Bull never looked into the problem?

It’s great to see Ferrari on the top 2 steps. That’s a big hole for Verstappen to climb out of after just one race. He DNF’d 3 last year, right?

But running out of fuel doesn't make them catch fire or lock up...

Doesn't Gasley's car run the "Red Bull" engine?

fuel pump issue , its a FIA provided part made by Megnetti Marelli
with testing days more teams had problems with it , but only after very long testing and race simulations
now RB didnt do these long race simulations , so never ran into these problems with testing

Checo his engine stalled while in gear through a corner , reason for the lock up
Max had also issue with steering rack , got damaged after pit stop . a rod was bent which gave him odd steering response

ferrari looked great and seems to have best package at moment , battle between Charles and Max is what F1 needs
like they did back then in Silverstone , these 2 know how to race wheel to wheel without crashing

next race within a week will show if RB has more to give or has to catch up to ferrari
Mercedes has some work to do , podium was a nice gift but Lewis was miles behind in the race ..

Seriously bummed to see where McLaren was wallowing.
They sounded pretty optimistic about their car during testing.

Was also glad to see more than just the one stop tyre conservation runs.
I hope that remains the case all year.
Kinda doubt it though.

Looks like there might be a glimmer of hope for the Haas team.
They looked decent in their debut season, but have been an embarrassment since.

And I hope Russel doesn't get forced into the wingman role at Benz.

Agree on colour, no way is that ‘Ferrari red’

Just watched the race. My 2 cents
-Cool to see Ferrari doing well. Car looked balanced and stable
-Wow Red Bull struggles.... More to come this week after reviews and testing
-Mercedes has some homework
-McLaren???? What in the world... that was painful

Overall thought- The cars look idiotic compared to last year and the bodies look like massive sharks lol

I enjoyed the race.

My only opinion is that the Mercedes car is ugly.

The Scuderia F1 podcast has some interesting info on the MB cars, downforce, pressure on drivers’ lower backs, etc.,.

My basic understanding is there's a part of the fuel pump system that is produced by Magnetti Marelli as a standardized part. There's also one by Bosch in the system, also standardized. But there's also a pump or part of the pump system that is each team's own components and according to something I read on Motorsport it was suspected the failure was the Red Bull part of this system, not the two supplied components from Marelli or Bosch.

And for the person asking about the fire of the Alpha Tauri, it was MGU related I believe.

How does a fuel pump cause steering issues, or engine locks?

I'm not trying to argue, I just don't understand.

All 3 retirements were very close together, and all have the same engines (basically).

All 3 looked different. If I were Red Bull, I'd say "fuel pump" too, but I ain't buying it just yet.

I think it looked better in last years black livery.

I’ve been watching reading about F1 for a long time and haven’t seen that car myself. Wonder how it performed?

That looks wild.
Looks to me like it would push like a tractor.

The Tyrell is about the strangest I ever saw on a track.

count me as another that is not a fan of the "Ferrari Red" this year.

stoked for both Leclerc and Sainz, big fan of both those guys.

hope Max and RB can turn it around and win this weekend

Quote from Red Bull:

“Both cars suffered from a lack of fuel pressure last weekend. The correct amount of fuel was in both cars, but a vacuum prevented the pumps from drawing fuel and delivering it to the engine.

“We’ve taken the necessary steps to correct this issue and we expect no problems this weekend.”

Horner on Max's steering issue:

“The steering issue [on Max’s car] was when the car got dropped on the final stop. We think it tweaked a track rod, so that’s why it was slightly different left to right.”

They introduced budget caps, but keep adding more and more races. Teams aren't going to be happy.
