I used to be a fan of Jase but he gets carried away to much and has had some real whack jobs like Bmayze, Hopper and Grohndal that take value away from his platform.

He’s talking about Jase not JA21 for anyone that is confused.

I’d say that’s something he probably should not have revealed. Did he say he purposely did shitty at races? That isn’t going to age will.

Raw? What does that mean? A professional athlete admitting he purposely took a dive in competition is a good thing to you? Hey as long as it’s “raw and honest”. I’ll stick with he should kept that under his hat.

Really shows how the mental side effects people differently in this sport. Look at JA21 now. Absolutely ripping!

It's refreshing to see a pro be so honest and upfront. If you listen to the entire podcast, Anderson was a real human-being and not a robot like so many other guarded pro's these days. He's grown up and learned from his past mistakes, pressures and issues. And you can tell with his results so far this season. He has a fire inside and rides like it.

That's not what he said, though I can see how some will think that.

He's saying that he was overwhelmed mentally, and couldn't deal with everything expected of him.

He's usually so guarded. This gives me more respect for him.

I have struggled to listen to some of the episodes as well , But jase seems to get the most out of certain guys and this seems like the one of those times

You can also chose not to listen to it.

I like listening to people like them personally you can learn from people like that you don't have to agree with everything they say but you can always take something.

I think that's just the format rather than Jase himself, he kept cutting him off here

I love that a guy can say something, recorded so you can go back and listen to it, and people will tell you that’s not what he said. What compels you to do that?

If that’s how you roll fine. Gary Sheffield (pro baseball player) admitted he would screw up on purpose because he wanted a trade. That’s one of the last things you want to be hearing out of a Pro athlete’s mouth. The first would be he screwed up
On purpose because he was betting against himself. If I was Kawasaki right now I’d be sitting there asking my self wtf?? Think he was “honest and raw” with them about this when he was trying to get a contract with them?

I remember JA saying he disliked all the obligations during another interview after he won. He said he’s more of a “#21” guy than a “#1” when they asked how he felt about running the #1 plate. Had no idea it affected him as much as he said in this interview though. Interesting stuff, glad he was able to be open and honest about it.

He should have taken a "pause for power" season off (sarcasm). Racing is his job, assume paid a lot of money.
How many of us would be fired or rehired stating i buitl a bunch of roofs that leaked cause i wasn't feeling it this year. Seems like our MX/SX stars have more in common with stick and ball stars than we thought.

To be honest this os one of the reasons im not a fan of any one rider, im a fan of the race itself, regardless of who is battling.

That was a great and honest interview which I greatly appreciate, Jason killed it in his 250 and 450 championship seasons and I feel as though he was underrated both even though he won. Everything he said in this interview made sense and adds up, good on the honesty. He has been the so fast this year, to anyone that says he won his 450 championship because Eli had some issues, you could say the reverse this year. I hope Eli and ando come out firing with Dungey like consistency next year, and let the best man win 👍👌

I get these guys train hard and put a lot into it, but I have a hard time feeling sorry for someone who flys to races, sits in their big motor home while their free bike is prepped, gets paid more money than I’ll ever see to ride dirt bikes in front of thousands of fans.
Championship feeling wasn’t everything you thought it was going to be? I’m sure that money spends just the same. Come work with the real world where there are no wins.

Yes I know I’m an A-hole and have accepted this way of life, raw speech is good right? so bring the down votes!

I missed the part of the interview where he was asking you to feel sorry for him, what time is that so I can go re listen?

Good on him, he spoke his mind, can’t hate on him for that. Refreshing to hear his actual opinion and not a political correct or corporate response

Speaking your mind these days sure sounds alot like crying about it. He won the championship then complains because his sponsor want him to promote their product? I’m just saying these guys have it too easy to hear this much complaint.

That's what I was thinking. Can Husky sue him for purposefully throwing away results? While also making the team less valuable to new sponsors and investors.

Do you think he has a “try hard” clause?

Judging by the sucking up most here are doing it sounds like he did the right thing by the team. It’s amazing that even one person would think this is good, honest or not. The real question is if this is what he’s comfortable revealing, let’s hear the things he still keeps quiet on. You know this isn’t all of it. It’s never all of it.

First guy in moto history to say he hated winning a championship.

That interview had some cringe worthy comments.

Gypsy does pretty good. He’s got some quirks I don’t necessarily like but it’s nice to have a different format than Pulp or Ping. He’s more of a Joe Rogan type of format..even down to his MMA references lol

Yeah that was weird. And at the end he says he always gives it his all... But sir you just said...

yeah, was a bit of an awkwardly honest interview.

I took it almost as if he was a stage performer, like a singer. He has to emotionally have the gasoline to do what he does, and upon winning it all, he lost it. His comment about "I got the holeshot at A1 and then went stright to 18th" was cringe as well as "I was so relieved when I got hurt".

I'm sure the mental pressure is tough, but admitting to half-assing your effort when paid huge bucks would certainly chap my ass if I was the one signing the checks. I appreciated his honesty, though.

They have it easy? I can assure you that you have never been under the kind of pressure the top guys in this sport are put under to perform.

That was an interesting interview. It reminded me of a story about Dion Sanders struggling emotionally after winning the super bowl. These athletes work so hard to achieve this one goal and once that happens they feel the same or still not complete. Life just goes on just like it did before and they have to find new purpose.

This story plays out over and over here. Riders are criticized for not opening up more and when they do they are criticized more. Damned if they do damned if they don't.
