-Still the same gear since SX2, that's 4 years ago...how hard is it Milestone?
-Can't change number plate font still
-Can't simply add team graphics to bikes, without buying the team bike which comes with unchangeable gear.
-I have to build up my riders skills just to navigate the bike mediocre around the track. Why not just give us the skills straight away? We have to learn the physics anyways, why make us learn ever-changing physics until you max everything out? It won't change after that...Seems like a giant waste of time and learning.
-It still doesn't recognize when you wrap up a title EARLY. 80 pts ahead with 3 rounds left, and it makes you finish the series without getting your championship plaque early. It should let you choose if you want to race the rest of the series or not.
-At least the bikes sound better and the Star 250F is a beast on this game.
-Swapping the back end in whoops sections is an awesome feature, I just hope as we play it doesn't become super easy to swap out.
-All the AIDS are stupid, makes the game 10x worse if any are turned ON.
-Training and Working out for the skills is annoying. I'd rather them have a test track option between races that lets you test your bike easier and makes it faster the more you test. They already have the California supercross tracks just like in real life from every team on the 3rd game.
-The track scans and jumps from round to round are so different, nothing is predictable. Not many line choices, mainly 1 line on each track. They force you to jump rhythms only one way most of the time. The Triples are different on every track, some you have to try way too hard on a 250 to make.
-FIX THE AI RIDER SPEED. Tomac, Webb and Roczen place after 15th? Friese on the podium? Chiz battling for lead? Seems they need to spend time making certain riders faster depending on how they did that year, (since they're already a year behind on when this game comes out. They have the real world results to go by.)
I feel like this was longer than I had hoped. I think its an okay game, but its the little things they have to fix. I'm not buying SX6 if they don't change things....and then i buy it anyways because the online servers move onto the next game...
As was stated above it is amazing we are on MESX 5 and some of the small things still haven’t been addressed.
First track I wanted to try was the Atlanta Speedway tracks. Thought they would be cool but I was pretty disappointed in them. They just don’t look good. Dirt looks terrible. It is amazing to me that they build a track in the outdoor compound ( the mx track ) with nice loamy looking dirt and the dirt in the stadiums look like crap.I know some stadiums are hard packed dirt but we should have better than what some of them look. I have a good setup. Xbox One X and a 55” LG OLED TV so it is not the setup. I still think the dirt in the first game of the series looks better than some of these tracks.
I’m back to playing GT7 on my PS5 😀
But compared to MESX5, it's a janky ass game. For whatever it's worth, MEXS5 is a fun game. It's not the the best, most accurate simulator on earth, but it's fun.
Played this game for 12 hours yesterday. - JMHO - Basic Review.
They have improved above the #4 version where the bike was as light as a feather and super bouncy. It is not as realistic as #3 as far as bike physics. #3 wasn't perfect either as it liked to low side was too easy and you could not recover. That is now gone. The "steer in the wrong direction to go the right direction" thing is not gone. It has been made uncontrollably sensitive however. The good news here is you no longer need to opposite stick it any more. Both sticks same direction will turn the bike.
Even though #3 had the best bike physics of all versions another draw back was that it was a little too fast. In #5 they slowed the bike was down but increased the "floaty-ness" of the air time when jumping. Don't like that.
Just some details
The new injury feature is ok I guess
The menus are improved and the best yet so far.
Many of the stock tracks look cartoony with a very bright luminosity coming off of the dirt texture.
The AI is much faster and more skilled.
The AI is much more fun to race against.
Still can't race custom tracks in public lobbies
There are a ton of Miles stone tracks to race. I assume they did this since last year we were limited to real SX tracks.
All of the tracks seem to have a rounded look on both sides. I don't like this. The dirt obstacles should appear chiseled and sharp.
The tuff blocks are falling off the track all over.
There are some new objects in the editor but you STILL can not reverse very many of the obstacles.
They did finally add one start module with a shorter run up to it so you can build the start right out of a turn etc.
New 4th whoop more like a roller. But you can't make it sand?
New 1/2 lane jumps.
New stoppy wall
New jumps.
Some new turn modules with 1/2 large whoops inside and outside. But they are a little too big
I did have a TON of fun racing this game once I got the bike figured out. I have to confess. You can do battle harder than in any other SX game ever. And unlike #4 I will not delete it off my console and will continue to play it.
But dang it, if they just brought the improvements of the bike handling of 5 and combined it with the realistic feel of #3 it would be near perfect.
Pit Row
*** The tweaks below are just that. It really shouldn't be difficult to address these. Of course there are some bigger WANTS not listed.
Tweaks
- The dirt in a few of the stadiums dont seem to be accurate.
- The dirt in a few are extremely off / annoying. Color / Intensity / Highlighting?
- Are they trying to represent the lime drying agent texture in some of these?
- While eroding would be great ... at the very least the dozer track lines should disappear after the first couple laps.
- The starting position/posture is pretty annoying and needs improved (THIS APPEARS TO BE FIXED)
- The camera adjustment after over/under is annoying.
- Gear needs to be updated
- More fonts. I cant stand not being able to move my # higher on jersey. Name should be able to go larger.
- Not sure how to relate this but why does there seem to be more of everything with Moto GP than SX ..... same co.
- Need to be able to back out of a season (I entered one accidentally now have to complete it?)
- Bails move everywhere
- Irritating when you look up to see 2 laps or last lap but its only because the leader crossed the line and you havent.
- If you are going to have tears offs, make it actually do something and necessary and limited. nobody has 100 on
- Release date ... either have it as active rider rosters or change the release date for the end of sx season and it be the way it just was.
- Lapped Riders ... cmon guys not battling here GTFOTW
All for now. Should have documented instead of brainstorm
I am completely baffled at the decision making when it comes to this company.
This series started out so graphically impressive but really hasn't evolved from that. I enjoy the games still. They're flawed but nothing tgat i can't get over. I've put 50+ hours into each game of the series and this will no doubt be the same. I get used to each games physics and quirks and enjoy them for what they are.
Looking forward to the new Mx Vs ATV game also. Hopefully they get it running 60fps on console or have more graphics options on PC. I enjoy All Out but the frame rate is low on my XSX..PC is smoother but really hasnt got many graphics options to make it look great either. I know this series is pretty much universally hated. But loving bikes there's still a lot of fun to be had in it.
