Not trying to start a debate on helmet choice, just sharing this. Today I took my 6D to their shop in Brea to have it checked out after my last get off. They took the liners out and examined the shell and inner foam liner, asked me some questions about what happened, how I crashed etc. "We're you knocked out" ? "I don't remember" Laughing The helmet checked out ok, they showed me how all the removable liners snap in and out, what they look for to determine if a helmet needs rebuilding or not, or if the shell is done and it's new helmet time (if it needed rebuilding they charge100 bucks parts and labor). I don't know if other helmet companies offer that service or not ? Anyway they were super helpful and informative, spent a fair amount of time with me sent me on my way free of charge. So "Thanks" !! out to Darren at 6D in Brea Smile

Many, including myself, consider 6D the innovator of the current generation of high-end helmets (rotational protection, etc.). Their competitors had to catch up. Their rebuild service is another area where they are leading the way and their competitors are going to have to catch up once again.

That's the reason I bought a 6D. I crashed one time in an Arai and didn't leave a scratch on the outer shell, but compressed the inner liner badly. I sent it to Arai and they said it was toast and couldn't be repaired. Three rides in a $600 helmet, but I'm thankful it did it's job.

6D is an amazing company.

They get my business for 3 reasons:
(1) I truly believe they offer the safest MX helmets
(2) They are excellent to work with (this goes a LONG way with me)
(3) By buying their product, we're helping fuel the R&D that will make for even better/safer 6D products in the future (and the competition)

This is exactly why I bought mine. I haven’t bought a top of the line helmet in quite some time , and figured my brain was worth the $600 price tag. The $100 rebuild is what pushed me to buy the 6D over the competition.

In a time where most companies - especially a lot of moto brands - frankly love being mediocre, 6D are an absolutely top shelf product and company. The company is staffed with smart people who can actually form sentences and the helmets are excellent.

The way their liners and cheekpads can be swapped to get good fitment is brilliant.

I sell them, and use an ATR-2 myself.

They are a good example for our industry.

I had them assist me with getting the perfect fit with an ATR-2, I was so impressed with their support I bought a second one.
