Sexton getting dummied again.

Edited Date/Time 3/17/2022 6:36am
Boy I hope The docs watch that kid. Two hard head hits and dummied bad in a few weeks. Repetitive concussions are bad news. Yes… I know folks, he will be checked out, etc. But in the professional sports world that often gets downplayed. Both of his last couple crashes you can see he was knocked koo koo for cocoa puffs. Just hope they are cautious is all. Seems like an excellent kid. 👍

I had the same thoughts. I’m sure he’ll follow up with his neurologist.

Doesn't take a doctor to know you should proceed with caution after these two blatant concussions.

I find it ironic that you all can diagnose his injury from watching it on TV but then have an issue on a video call with a Dr…yet have no knowledge of what that call was or if it was a follow up after an initial visit…but hey you all are the experts….

One could see an evident growth on someone via a photo/telehealth appointment, but one would need to be seen in person for a biopsy/examination to be sure. That's one simple example, Don.

Basically, most people are pussies these days. Chase and Webb are not.

Isn’t that what I said?……” yet have no knowledge of what that call was or if it was a follow up after an initial visit”
but yet we have vital dr’s that think they know more by watching it on tv than an actual doc…

I never diagnosed anything. But being around hockey most of my life and seeing guys get concussed lots I know when I see a guy knocked silly. Both of Sextons last crashes he was knocked koo koo for cocoa puffs. It’s bad for young people especially. All I said is I hope he gets good advice. I would think he would. Sure seems like a great young man. 👍

Isn’t saying he was “ knocked koo koo for cocoa puffs” in itself a diagnosis? You are making the assumption that he was knocked out…but yet you don’t know…it was a hard crash made even more spectacular by his rear wheel coming around and tearing his jersey off…but there is no visual evidence that he was knocked out and/or concussed…

I wasn’t aware that he was out if it from the crash last night. I never saw him even look wobbly. Was he? Or we going by a broken visor? Musquin broke his visor last night too. Is he now in concussion protocol?

So every time someone loses a magnetic visor are we calling it a concussion now? I'd say his bike leapfrogging off his back was what kept him from popping back up immediately.

Looked like his body took most of the hit , not his head.

You can tell he made a diagnosis rather than simply stating an observation by the medical jargon used. Only a true medical professional would refer to a potential head injury as being, "knocked koo koo for cocoa puffs."

The one camera view from sort of the left profile you can see his head hit HARD too. But certainly his body did as well.

Yea you are right I only just saw the different angle on it now . He did hit his head pretty good too .

Come on guys, we all know he wouldn't have gotten hurt if the visor design on those Alpinestars helmets was better.

Yes sir. And side impact too which are generally considered the highest risk for concussion issues. So, as I mentioned. I’m just voicing concern for the kid. I guarantee he has experts/docs checking him out. That’s a good thing.

Not sure about doing biopsies (above my education level) but ive worked at many stoke certifeid ER's and almost all of our neuro consults and stroke calls are done via tele health monitors. The rn' are the neurologist's "hands on" assessment assistants. We rule out or treat strokes (with tpa if indicated) with this method. All done via a tele health setup. It's actually quite affective.
Sure, having the neurologist in person is much better but not always feasible. Don't discount the use of a neuro consult via tv so quickly.
Not directed toward anyone, just speaking from experiences Ive witnessed.

Watching the replay he really whacked it. His head bounces back off the ground about as far as the neck will allow. He was out of it for a bit. I didn’t realize that watching the broadcast.

Does his helmet use a magnetic visor?

Webb is tougher than a $2 steak and props to him giving it a go, but he was riding around after like Chubbs from Happy Gilmore.
