*On TV they’ll tell us it’s the Pro’s “home track”, even when we know dude lives like 5 hours from there…. so, what do you consider your home track ? How far from your casa ? How long you been racing/riding there ? Is it badass ?

Lucky enough to have moved around enough to live by a few nationals.

When I was growing up in the Bay Area, Hangtown was my home track, rode there almost every Wednesday afternoon. It's pretty hardpack most of the year, but the layout is great.


Then I moved to Temecula, rode at Glen Helen all the time:


Now I live in Philadelphia, day trip range from Budds Creek and Southwick. This is by far my favorite place to live and ride.

The track I consider my home track, because it was the first track I ever went to, and the one where I became addicted to riding at, is Sandbox Mx in Vassar MI. There's also Baja Acres, Twisted Mx, and Supercoops that are about the same distance for me, but the Sandbox has always been a special place for me. Every time I think about it or go there it brings me right back to the first 2 times I ever went there, great great memories with my Dad and my friends and their dad. It's about an hour and a half from my house... the first year I rode there was in 2011 when I was 15 and I definitely plan on hitting it this year.

It's not the most sprawling track ever, but it has a variety of obstacles, and is all deep sand and it has some elevation changes to it, it's just a fun track to ride. Plus there's no class split so you can just ride as much as you want.

Michigan has quite a few badass tracks, the unfortunate thing is that almost none of them are in the metro Detroit area. Supercoops and twisted are the closest, but still not quite in the metro area.
So it's a drive to wherever you want to ride for me. I don't mind the drive though, that's always been a part of riding days for me is the drive and I enjoy it.

Beans Bike Park Dennison, Ohio. Brock Sellards home track. Raced and rode there on PW50’s.

Returned to moto in college about 6 years ago and ride Beans nearly every weekend.

Brock rolls in from time to time on his kx450 (no truck just rides on the road) does a moto (still rips) and then goes right back home. It’s epic.


10 mins from my crib. Can’t go wrong. One of the best in Ohio.

My home track is the one and only Barona Oaks. It was 15 minutes from my home when I started racing there in 1985, although I've moved an hour or so away. The dirt there is mostly adobe clay, with some sand from down in the wash where a small creek flows through the property. Most riders can't get used to the dirt unless they've ridden there many times; it's loamy in the morning and hard-packed, baked clay in the afternoon. Slippery AF when they water it.

Ask any of these guys about their home track, and they'll say "Barona Oaks:"

I always thought Broken Spokes was Brock's home track. I'll have to check out Beans too.

I'm going to try to come "home" and race several events this year. Grew up in Pataskala and my mom's family is from Urichsville. Hoping to meet up with several of my OH moto brothers!

Pleasure Valley Raceway in Armaugh PA . A central PA motocross landmark. I've been racing there off and on for over 20 years. 40 minutes from my house.

Dt-1 in Tulare Ca about an hour away. Technically little okie is closer but they are only open a few times a year for night races. Sometimes it stinks but damn the dirt is gooooooood. Track is fun as well.

The legendary Rio Bravo I started riding there in 1991. I think it was the only real track in Houston Tx at the time.

This is a cool thread..thanks for starting it.

I grew up at Currituck MX (CMX) in Moyock, NC. Man I miss that track. Great people and a great place. My dad and I used to go there every wednesday for $10.

My now home track is South Fork MX. So thankful to have that track and Jon and Connie running it. They are great!

Here is my home track (not my video)…Price, Utah/Carbon County fairgrounds…everyone’s favorite part of the track is the “drop off” just after the first turn. It’s collectively gotten to be less and less of a drop off the 30 years I’ve been riding there…but it’s always been a safe and fun.

Riverside Raceway - Winterset, IA wasn't the closest, but a favorite growing up. I love it so much now that I drive 4 and a half hours every event to lend a hand and ride my dirt bike on the best dirt on the planet. The track has had a tough week as a tornado decided to destroy most of the property and Tony the owner's home, but we'll go racing there in just over a month like it never happened.

Cal City MX Park. Used to ride there pretty much weekly. The Elmes family have put their all into that place and it shows. Have a lot of good memories at that place. Always good BBQ too!

I absolutely love these tracks and it’s closer by far than anything when I was in San Diego 👍

It’s crazy how the camera for Jordan River doesn’t show how steep some sections are.

Wholesome thread. Here in Washington state many of my local public tracks have been closed due to noise or urbanization or whatever, so the places I’d consider my home tracks are all gone or private now and with the way things have gone here I don’t feel it is my place to talk about them. As a kid my home track was definitely Sky River MX in Monroe, WA. Really cool to hear Ryan Villopoto bring it up on Pulp as the track he grew up riding on. When Covid hit and the number of people riding Skyrocketed, many places here stopped separating practice groups by age/skill. A newer rider was in front on me on the inside of the backstretch of a local track and made a 90 degree cut to the outside in front of me to exit the track while I was passing at high speed. The result wasn’t pretty and involved my KX500’s handlebars piercing through his entire seat foam. Anyways, since then I haven’t been riding public tracks much, or I at least make sure they are splitting practices.

This is a true "Home track" Its my best friend Craig's track, im so jealous! It was our dream growing up to have a track in our yard, he accomplished it!

The Wild Rose Motocross Park in Calgary was the grass roots track for a couple international stars like Dean Wilson and Ross Pederson, a host of men and women (Shelby Turner is a regular) who went on to national glory, and countless keeners like me who are now as old as dirt. It isn't just a "track": it's 88acres with three unique full size MX tracks, a minicycle track, two beginner tracks, an endurocross track, and separately run BMX and RC facilities, all within a stone's throw of a major city center. There's daily grooming, a history of hosting Nationals, a legacy going back to the early 60's, and it's all run by a non-profit org managed by volunteers. Thanks to the long summer days, it's open most evenings - but winter kind of sucks.

Growing up in Canada on the Michigan/ Ontario Border my home tracks belong to D-14.

If I was to list a home track it would be Baja Acres in Millington, MI. That place has always been badass!
