Just ran across this thing on Facebook. Interesting that Honda would license something like this.

Vital MX Link: https://www.vitalmx.com/features/First-Look-Honda-CRF-E2-50cc-Equivalen…

From their website:
The CRF-E2 is a Honda Official Licensed Product and the first electric motorcycle to have the famous Honda CRF name.

The first look leaves a lasting impression and with our electric motorcycle they will never forget the experience. CRF-E2 is the electric equivalent of 50cc but without having to deal with the noise, emission, and heat from the gas engine.

Honda Official Licensed Product. Designed, manufactured and distributed by or for Greenger Electronic Technology LLC. Honda, the Wing logo, and CRF livery are licensed by American Honda Motor Co., Inc.

Interesting. Hydraulic disc brakes, what looks to be solid ergos and suspension... I wonder if it's as fast as the KTM? Does it even need to be? I suspect Honda will sell these, but I'm wondering if the decision to license instead of manufacture themselves is a good idea. (Or at least pretend they manufacture themselves... many minis are not made by the OEMs.)

Um...shouldn't that be a CR-E not a CRF. Its not a Four Stroke. Doesn't Honda understand their own acronyms?

The routing of the front brake hose already freaks me out. Googling for Greenger doesn't help. Seems like they have been around some time with a similar bike.

“Honda licensed”

So who makes it?
I do think some clarification is required, because it looks like just the trade dress is licensed (not unlike the kids bicycles you can get from Walmart that resemble a Kawasaki dirt bike), but the website specifies that parts are at Honda authorized dealers, which would be more of a relationship than just trade dress licensing.

They can decide that the ‘F’ means whatever the hell they want it to mean. Just like they come up with CR, CB, MSX, NS, CN and the countless others.

So who makes it?
Not Honda...I don't understand why Honda would endorse this when they won't even put it on their own website..

Because companies pay them to license the brand, and if they like the product they'll do it?

Do you think Honda manufacturers the hoodies bearing their logo?

When did "CRF" show up? When four strokes came around. End of discussion.

I’m not disputing that. I’m saying that doesn’t mean that everything Honda produces in the future pre-fixed with an ‘F’ is going to be a four stroke..

I understand. But it makes absolute ZERO sense to do that now.

But will they be as dependable? My kid has a Husky EE5 and he raced it hard all last year and we have had zero issues at all. The bike isn't rode gently by any means, he hammers it.

Congrats! That's a huge step for you both. Look forward seeing more info and hopefully more models in the future.

100mm travel forks with 210mm rear travel.

That's a hell of a mismatch. There'll be KX 60 (etc) front ends being put on this by a few mini dads.
