I accidentally watched myself ride in double speed on a video once and it still wasn’t that fast! Holy cow he has that bike figured out!!

Woods riders have great skills on a bike. Ask Zack Osborne.

He only got 3rd in a local Florida off-road race back in January.

Exactly!

What's also amazing is how fast they can process what's coming at them(trees and terrain) at that speed...and then react to it!!

Single track woods riding on a 2 stroke is the best riding there is. That organic soil looks dreamy. I spent most of my life riding that kind of stuff in England.

This is Russ passing me at 16:08 in the first section of that race. I am a 40+ A rider. I'm not super fast but am not "slow" by any means. The top level guys are on a whole 'nother planet in regards to speed.

Yep. That pretty much puts in perspective. It's like watching a local pro at an MX track...thinking how could anyone go faster? Then a National Pro shows up and.....holy shi#t!! I remember seeing Windham one year at the Swan MX Pro Challenge. It was mind blowing how much faster he was than everyone else. He made all the others look silly that day.

No Bark Busters either, those are just regular handguards. Won't do much if they smacked a tree.

Those are the relatively new Enduro Engineering aluminum deflectors. Kind of a halfway mix between full wraps and plain old roost deflectors.

I prefer them over wrap arounds. Wrap arounds tend to make any contact with a tree more solid while the aluminum defectors give a little, so you don't bounce so hard off the tree. When I use full wraps I tend to pinball off the trees.

the thing this time of year that gets me is the shadow/sun time for the eyes to react.

any kind of speed and that lags you are blind it's a real issue with ole folks LOL!
