Who hauls their bike in a bad a** Toyota?

Bought is used for around $3,800.00 and drove it up to 450K miles. Did the clutches, head
gaskets and stuff myself. Kept it in tip top shape. Got 22mpg the entire time.
Still had original rotating assembly and used barely any oil. Never once failed to start or let me down anywhere, ever.
Passed smog no problem every time.

Head gasket was starting to go recently and, as much as it pained me, I felt it was time
for something different. Sold it for $1,500.00 (yes, the new owner knew it needed a head gasket.)
You do the math, it was like I was getting paid to drive that truck. That thing frigging ruled.

But check out the new rig F-150, 18 Limited. I loved my pickup because it was simple, easy going. I bought a new 19 4 runner TRD offroad to find that Toyota hasn’t changed that motto since 1990. Very disappointing vehicle for what it cost.

I have a 1964 Volkswagen Bus, so I know all about stupid vehicle values. I think that it is really just driven by old guys (my age) wanting glory days and having retirement investment bandwidth. I bought my bus for $2000 - hahahahaha. I traded the 1980 4x4 in for a 1985 (red SR5), then a 1991 (white SR5), then went to Tundras after that. Currently have a 2019 Limited Cement Gray. It's like hauling motos in a Lexus. Such a long ways from 3 bikes (Bultaco, Elsinore, Montesa) in a 1961 VW Bus in the early 70s. Lucky to have survived that.

to this day my wife doesn’t understand when we are driving in a modern vehicle and say “what’s that noise?” those who never drove vintage vehicles have no idea what it’s like when you are cruising care free and hear a new noise!

I have a 2014 1794 Tundra now, just broken in 5.7 at 123000 miles with TRD exhaust… probably drive till it falls apart since the new tundra isn’t as “ground breaking” as toyota claimed, no V8 and they are already having major turbo issues from what i’m hearing!
