From MXGP and World Enduro teams.

Wonder if this is last season in AMA?

Sad to see a sponsor go, always loved the Rockstar suzuki and husky teams.

Paging Rupert X to the photo booth

Sucks money wise, but those MXGP Husqy’s look a thousand times better without it.

Monster left Kawi also. Is this energy drink phase over?

To my knowledge Pepsi has owned Rockstar for awhile. There’s a Pepsi plant nearby, my buddies mom works there and got me a case of Rockstar & a hat for my graduation present back in 2010 that she got for free

If I'm not mistaken then Pepsico was the distribution partner and they where working close together but in march 2020 Pepsico became the owner of Rockstar Energy. That is bad news, because the European side of Pepsico doesn't want to be associated with "environmental unfriendly sports" such as motocross. And the American side of Pepsico they seem to go that way too, ending the MTN DEW relationship with Chase Elliott. This is probably something we're going to get used to. Companies wanting to green wash themselves and stop sponsoring motorsports. But when they can earn money at those same dirty fans and sports they are there to make the deals! Like the fact that Pepsi is the official beverage at the Indianapolis Speedway.

Would be bummed if they did pull out of SX/MX or Motorsports in general. When I think of Rockstar I immediately go to the Suzuki days and in BMX, Ryan Nyquist. Don't alienate your core demographic. Unless, that's what you want of course...

Pepsi, and Coke, are not great marketers. They are both great distributors. Both companies buy cool brands that grew through intense marketing, greatly increase their distribution and start cutting all of the marketing that made them.

Coke and Pepsi use to be cool brands and had some MX, skate and surf sponsorship back in the day. They stopped all of that and soda sales have been flat or declining for over a decade. These guys will do the same to the energy drink brands. Once they lose the key marketing people at Rockstar and Monster, all SX and MX sponsorship is over. Neither company can create a brand, but they are both great at killing brands.

I dont see many people drinking Rockstar's. You see quite a bit of empty energy drinks cans on construction sights. Monster, Red Bull and the new popular one is Bang. How's Rockstar doing financially?

The preferred energy drink is the rockstars actually. Not the OG one but a lot of the high caffeine ones. Personally I like the rockstar punch

I've never had a Rockstar and like you say I don't think I ever saw anyone drinking one...

AShoc is on the move too. Signed Chase Elliott and pumped 15 million in a marketing group who has: Nitro Circus and their championships and series, SLS and Rob Dydrek his company under their umbrella!

Ha ha, this can be true, but, it's ironic, when you think about it... saving the environment, while poisoning childrens livers with chemicals like this.... really!!

It was interesting with the Super Enduro in Bulgaria yesterday. The European Husqvarna team no longer has rockstar logos, but Colton Hacker’s US factory Husqvarna still has the rockstar livery, as well as on his gear, like nothing’s changed.

This was my thought too- not happy to promote environmentally bad motorsports, but happy to promote unhealthy dietary additives. Crazy.

Pepsi is in the process of putting all the “energy” products under a new banner Pepsi Energy. Rockstar’s sku count is going to be cut down dramatically. As with a Coca-Cola, you’ll start seeing Pepsi Energy cans soon. Which in my opinion never worked for Coke, so we’ll see with Pepsi. Almost 2 Billion is a lot of money to buy a brand; going to be interesting on the recoup actions.

Rockstar punch is the bee's knees. The carb free in the blue can is good too. I hope they stick around in moto

Oh the irony of a manufacturer of sugar/ caffeine drinks that have contributed to obesity and general unhealthy lifestyles being against "environmentally unfriendly" sports.

ROI (Return on Investment)

Period

Neither Monster nor Rockstar see the necessary ROI in Europe to justify MILLIONS of dollars/US that these sponsorships entail.

As others have said, Rockstar is now Pepsi's brand to run how they see fit. The team of marketing peeps at Rstar are virtually ALL gone (A few still remain; but, very few) & things are run very differently at Pepsi. The Motorsports Marketing budget is SERIOUSLY less than it was, previously. The Global Brand Alignment between Husky and Rstar seems to be over, also. I think the Rstar Editions are US only...? (Well, North America only).

Monster had backed away from Kawasaki Europe back in 2019/end of 2018, right? So, this is a trend that started a few years ago.
