I'm a pretty skinny guy, but I hate tight gear. Can't move around comfortably on the bike. Even worse for me is the trend toward "low" waistbands. Dude, at the very least, allow me to buckle my pant higher than where the patch starts growing, come on! Woohoo
I had a pair of TLD GP pants last year and it made me feel like a '70s pornstar with a sock in my underwear.

My gear is only tight for now...because I swear I'll fit into it by race season... (as I munch on some chips)

Bring baggy gear back…and maybe a cotton jersey or two…

No, but that guy did create another account. I think ML got rid of that one as well.

I thought the same thing given the topic.

For those of you that like the tighter gear, what chest protector are you using? I like an under the jersey style and in need of a new one.

Who still makes the “baggy” stuff? I have a hard time finding the looser fitting gear. One of my thighs is bigger than the other because of post thrombotic syndrome and it’s time for a new set

I got a set of O’Neal Element gear for free in the size I wear everything else and I feel like I’m swimming in the jersey.

I feel like the tight gear trend was decided upon by a small group of gear designers. I fucking hate it. If you're too skinny, or too fat, it looks terrible. The gear designers need to realize that 95% of their customer base are not in the shape of elite pro riders.

I tried the tight gear once last summer during the hottest part of the riding season. It turned me off real quick when I came in after after the race trying to take it off quickly after being sweaty and exhausted. Fuck that shit.

Wore my new fast house kit Sunday at the track. Way tighter than my shift stuff. Couldn’t decide if I liked it or not. Felt sleek for sure. Good thing I workout lol honestly wouldn’t been bad if the waist on the pants weren’t cut so high like some old school nut hugger jeans.😆I could def see how someone with even a slight gut would hate them.

Similar. I found them fairly roomy. Lots of room for my knee guards too.

I wear Deluth "Ball room jeans/pants" ...so I can't imagine trying to wear the new skintight gear. Lucky for me...the go-to birthday/Christmas gifts my family have bought me, for years, was No Fear jerseys and pants. I have enough to last the rest of my life. My kinda ugly knows that "fashionable gear" is not going increase my cool factor.

So I wear 32 pants it every brand I've ever worn. I wanted to try FXR this year to see how it holds up and when it got here this is pretty much how the pants fit.... Had to send them back for a 34 and they still fit tighter than Thor and TLD 32's.

I hate the tight fitting gear! I’m in good shape but can’t stand feeling like I have on something I’d go surfing in. I buy the fox 180 or 360 gear and buy it really
Big. I’m from the McGrath era and that’s a much cooler look to me than some nut huggers with a wet tee shirt contest going on. Oh and Barcia ‘ that’s embarrassingly tight.

The best mix of loose but not total crap gear has been the Fly Kinetic stuff. It is the closest thing I've found to the "older style" fit from the early 2000s-2010 or so. I look at pictures and realize just how out of shape I am but the gear is comfortable so I'd say that's a good blend for comfort.

The new tld stuff is the opposite. Back of pants is regular but the front is cut super low. Even the kids stuff is like that. Luckily I can pull it off but I can imagine if you have a big gut it would feel pretty weird.

Barcia’s stuff is custom. I wear 32/medium in SePro pants and seUltra jersey and it’s not skin tight. Wear 31jeans and large Tshirts.. Definitely tighter than the 2019 sePro pants I have though.

I’m 5'7" about 175-180 and I have been wearing a lot of the Fly Kinetic and Evo DST. The Fly Kinetic has a looser fit that I really like but I do prefer the Evo DST even though is it a little tight in the thigh and forearm area. I can still tuck in my jersey, and you can’t see my dad bod beer belly very much. I would strongly suggest trying out either of those two sets of gear.
