Ive been doing the window screen material for 3 years after I saw a video of factory teams throwing mesh in front of the rads. Been a life saver for keeping them clean

I think Bud Racing has them as well. They have a store in the US.

Just checked the Hurly site. All it says is Parts Europe, Bud Racing, and DT1 filters. Probably worth contacting DT1 if anyone is interested in their products.

Yep it’s a filter skin stretched over the filter. It’s actually made for pool filters . I noticed the wife had a bag of pool filter skins and I compared them to the pc racing skins. They ended up being the same thing and much cheaper! The skin in this picture is older and has been stretched out . I usually use them a few times then steal more from the mrs …The rear is a 110. Ran a 110 on my last 250f and loved it. FC had me go up one size on forks and shock. Fork is .49 ..
The shock spring is also one stiffer.FC was out of my size (5.3) so they got a OEM 5.3. Only difference was FC is yellow and mine is stock color.
Nice, I am about to have FC do they same set up. What’s your weight and speed?

I’m 6’1 and 175. Vet b rider..These forks felt way too stiff so I was surprised when they told me we were going up a rate. All about the valving..

Hey guys! I’m having a hard time deciding between the 2022 crf250r or yz250f. I’m 30 and just started back riding a few months ago. I’m coming off a gas gas mc250f. I just want something with good power and feels comfortable jumping. Mostly weekend warrior maybe try a few races in the future

Both are great bikes honestly and you’d be happy with either. Honda probably costs a little more money to get it setup just based on everyone needing suspension work out the gate. You really can’t go wrong though, just depends on your style and any previous allegiances you may have. Mini 450 torque that has dialed suspension out the gate, and a nice blend of stability and cornering, go Yamaha. If you don’t mind tinkering and paying a little extra money on setup to get the best ergos with a bike that corners amazingly, go Honda. Good luck!

What do you like and dislike about the gasgas?

Agreed, they feel stiff but I think that’s actually mid stoke harshness and having them higher in the stroke with some good valving will be great. Let’s compare notes when the snow melts. I’m 6’1, 165, Vet A, so our setups should be similar.

I like how light it feels but you have to really rev it out to get the most power. The tires are not that great and the low end power is lackluster

You can put better tires on it, and a 13t counter sprocket will liven up the bottom end. I haven’t ridden the gasgas, but it probably has better stock suspension than the Honda. The Honda will probably steer the best followed by the gasgas and then the Yz250f. Honda ethos the best Yamaha the worst. The Honda feels light and has some decent pop on the low end but I think you are probably best off to stay on the gasgas for the year and wait for whatever update Honda makes on the ‘23. I would expect them to improve the suspension setting.

So I should probably ride it until the new bikes are released later this year? I may add a tuned ecu to see if it can add more power. I was hoping to try either the Honda or Yamaha but I know there things I’ll gain and lose coming from the gas gas.

Based on what you said get the Yamaha. Better bottom end then the GG or Honda and suspension is great out of the crate.

Is there a top heavy feel with that IMS tank as compared to the stock RX tank? Also, is it noticeably wider than the comparable R machine with the Red Moto 2.0gal tank / the stock RX tank?
The RedMoto looks like this on mine

You had to buy the rx fuel pump also?
I started with the rx. I don’t know if the r pump works. The red moto tank is pretty close to the r tank I think. The ims looks huge but feels about like the rx tank when you are riding. 5x a year i will need the range of the ims, otherwise I’ll run the red moto.

Does anyone have the color code for the red on the 2022 crf250r handy? Need it for graphics.

Yes. Red moto might have an adapter for the r pump.

Per Matt Stavish they did not when I tried to put the tank on my R model. He said you need the RX pump. So I went and got an RX model and sold my R.

Alright, suspension is on its way to Factory Connection. By the way, you don't need to loosen anything but the subframe itself to get the shock out. Pull the rear wheel all the way up, prop it up, and pull the shock out a bit so the cartridge and top bolt hanger is free; then put the wheel back to neutral position, slide the shock down a bit, and then you can pull it right out. Do this before you do the forks.

Thanks, I tore mine down and removed the swing arm to grease all linkage bolts and the swing arm pivot. But that is great to know.

Ha, had not considered that I could always just remove the entire swing arm instead of loosening the subframe. Might be worth doing that next time so I can grease everything.

Was there much grease in the swing arm pivot? I am going to do my linkage before I put the shock back on.

Man, it was pathetic. I would say it had no grease on it, I could maybe feel a slight bit of film but not enough to make you feel good. This is standard process for me on any new bike I buy. I haven’t rode this bike yet so it’s still in prep stage for now. Doesn’t matter either as I’m waiting for my kit KYB stuff to come in from ENZO.

Yes, and it will be the lightest 250 once KTM updates everything to the new platform.
