But I have exclusively ran Rekluse clutches in all my bikes for 5 years now and love them. But they aren’t available yet.

Considered a Hinson as they are available, but have never ran one.

That’s what I was curious of, my Yamaha I used my clutch quite a bit. I’m shocked you don’t need to use it as much on the Honda now.

Did you try and call Honda direct?

How long did you have the bike time wise before it blew up?

No I have not tried to call Honda. Bike has 18 hours on it but it started acting up around 15 hours. I have been riding in the woods. It hasn’t even been on a track, and I don’t ride that fast. No excuse to have problems at this point.

wait....it started having issues at 15 hours ...what issues?
Didn’t want to run. Stalled when accelerating and fouled a couple plugs. Starting making a rattling/tapping noise an hour or so after that and it just got progressively worse. There are pics further back in the thread. Cams and head are ruined.

Anyone use the works connection radiator braces yet?
Reason I ask is I’m the left side of the frame where the left bracket goes I have a fabric band that’s hooked to the bottom of the fuel pump. Looks like it may be in the way. For people that have used them how’s the figment ? Thanks.

There is a strap on the left side of the frame to hold the fuel tank upside down when servicing. Fabric is what your clothes are made of instead of plastic or metal.

I installed them, you have to scoot over the fabric band. It’s in the instructions. Learn from my mistake don’t tighten down the brackets until you have your shroud bolts aligned.

A piece of fabric almost like seatbelt material hooked to the bottom of the fuel pump then wrapped around the frame.

Honda just handles better and the power comes on smoother. When you roll through the corner faster, and you can roll the throttle on nicely, you don't need the clutch to help keep the front end from diving or climbing out of the rut.

The oil used to be really dirty on my Yamaha after a single ride. I put 4 hours on the Honda and it looks brand new when I change it.

Do you need the RX fuel pump for the IMS tank?

There has always been debate on how to break in one of these 4-stroke engines. The manual likely tells you to do heat cycles, etc.

Anyone who has been around these for a minute and/or rebuilt them will tell you that you have a small window on a new engine or new piston/rings to get the rings to seat on the cylinder and create a nice seal. If you do excessive warm up, you can end up with an engine with blowby and oil consumption.

My buddy just picked up a 2022 CRF250 yesterday. On first start up, it smoked quite a bit. After a few mid-rpm passes through the gears, with engine braking after each one, the smoked stopped, as expected.

Just a note to be careful with excessive long idling heat cycles as you may create an engine that consumes oil.

I simply do a few motos and slowly increment my intensity. first, one super-slow rpm riding around, then incrementally go faster in each session.

Let’s not turn this into a break in thread, but yes it’s not good to let a new bike idle for long periods of time. Might not be great to hold it wide open right away too. I generally follow the manual but am maybe a bit more aggressive on the throttle than it suggests.

Is there a top heavy feel with that IMS tank as compared to the stock RX tank? Also, is it noticeably wider than the comparable R machine with the Red Moto 2.0gal tank / the stock RX tank?

Are you guys finding these in stock at dealers or are they still very difficult to get? I want to buy one in a couple months, not sure if that's even gonna be possible though. I'm in Michigan if it makes any difference.

Can’t go wrong with xpr or twisted. Would not waste my money on tokyomods again

How many people have gone stiffer on the fork/shock? I’m 163, pretty fast but not that fast. Thinking one rate stiffer for both.

Factory connection had me go one rate stiffer on front and rear for off road. I’m 165. So for my rx thats stiffer front and a rear spring from the R.

This is an RX. For the R yes you have to buy an RX pump per RedMoto/Checkpoint Offroad. The IMS can use the stock R pump.
