JETT AND HUNTER LAWRENCE TO HOLD PRESS CONFERENCE/EVENT AT SOUTH COAST PLAZA
Jett and Hunter Lawrence have something pretty cool cooking. Next week, the Thursday prior to the season opener at Anaheim 1, the brothers will be hosting their own press conference/event just down the freeway from Angel Stadium over at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, California.

Well, it's actually more than just a press conference as the brothers along with their partners have stepped up to build a track on site (with jumps and a whoop section) to give out a live demonstration. This event is not just for the industry and media either, as it's setup for them to give back to fans as the event is open to the public. Giving attendees the chance to hear what Jett and Hunter have been up to this off-season, watch them in action and some meet and greets as well.

I was actually just discussing with someone last night how it seems like since Jeremy McGrath and Ricky Carmichael were on the Tonight Show back in 2001, there's been less and less push by riders to do public events that are beyond the media days put forth by the sport. Hats off to the brothers and their crew for putting this on.

Jett and Hunter will be announcing more details on the event, what they will be doing, attendance, etc in the next 24 hours on their own social media.

Super cool of them to do that. Even if hardcore moto fans like us can’t make it maybe normal kids who happen to be at the mall will see how cool dirtbikes are for the first time and want to get into riding.

I know I’m in the minority here, but this feels like some Connor McGregor UFC hype train garbage.

Just a bit pretentious if you ask me.

Feld is not doing a big press conference leading up to A1, everything they are doing is virtual (boring!)

So the Lawrence bros and their sponsors organized their own. And invited fans. Not just the same 5 media members that cover the sport.

You could see it that way, but I really think you'd be mistaken with these two.

These kids are real grounded, everyone knows they put the work in and went through the ringer making it this far, they weren't rich kids sitting at a sunny US training compound, and that's why they aren't content just sitting around waiting for A1, they're continually putting themselves, and the sport, out there.

Just giving other people the chance to get involved and enjoy the show, nothing malicious.

“I was actually just discussing with someone last night how it seems like since Jeremy McGrath and Ricky Carmichael were on the Tonight Show back in 2001” Carmichael wasn’t there, It was McGrath & Pastrana.

Random thoughts: If feld can get someone else to handle their promotions for free, they will never do another promotion! American kids will hear the noise of the bikes & run in the other direction😂… maybe get some wheelie boys to attend… see what these bikes are designed for….

To be exact, Ricky Carmichael and Jeremy McGrath rode the exhibition race and then went onto stage during the show. Travis Pastrana was present but as a commentator for the exhibition race, he didn't ride.

In 2002, they did a freestyle show instead with Mike Jones, Kenny Bartram, Dustin Miller, and Jake Windham

I stated that Ricky Carmichael and Jeremy McGrath did the show in 2001 and you refuted that Carmichael wasn't there.

You are right, I didn’t know about Carmichael being on it. I wasn’t there that year like I was the others. 👍🏼

I haven’t been to the mall to buy a CD in a while. Do they have an Auntie Ann’s and massage chairs?

Do you think McGregor helped grow and promote the sport of mma/ufc?
McGregor affected it in a mostly negative way, yes. I would put UFC at about the same level as WWE the way it’s been recently. Anything but professional.

While agree with your comment, the fact is Mcgregor got the UFC more PPV buys. Personalities make fans/haters which help grow the sport.

Never understood why people are hung up on “growing the sport”. Moto is fine and hell could use a step back to the roots where it started. Every sport that grew got ruined in my eyes. One example NFL is a joke compared to yesteryears.

That Kimmel segment was so cringey. Kimmel is an idiot, and Dion's comments about "we don't do this" were, ah, nevermind.

The Leno segments were always pretty good- Jay being a bike guy and all.

If I remember right, I think at least TP did a Letterman appearance or two as well.
