This blows my mind! How does someone have money and discipline to just store all those bikes for many years and not ride them?

He’s asking 14,000.00 for the 125’s and 15,000.00 for the 250’s. As I said, he’s asking a small mint. Someone will buy them is the crazy thing.

No, no one will pay thatLaughing

As much as I like the CR, that price is ridiculous. The mint 07 kx is still in bazaar for $5500 which is very surprising.

Very nice bikes and good luck to your friend either way

I’m sure there’s better investments to be had with that amount of money.

Why is everyone downing this? I think it's awesome that these bikes are fetching such high prices as it shows their value as collectibles. I have a 2007 CR125 and it's cool knowing that it's worth a bit of money, but that doesn't stop me riding it as well. In Australia there are late model CR500's going for up to $38k aud! Pretty crazy

I confirmed with the owner and he says they are 2007. My bad. I thought he said they were 2006.

Probably because race bikes are built to be raced, storing them without using them is stupid and the asked price is totally fucked up. And maybe even because any of these two would eat roost from a basic same year YZ.

^Have to disagree with the "eat[ing] roost" comment. Go back and look at the comparos for the time on the 125s. The YZ was acknowledged to be a great bike. When the last gen CR125 debuted in '05, most tests found it highly competitive with the YZ. As for the 250, I own an '05 and have ridden a lot of similar year or later model YZ250s. I'm very glad Yamaha still makes two strokes and has updated the bikes at least some. But comparing a '19 (or maybe it was an '18) YZ I spent a lot of time on to my CR, the Honda will smoke the YZ in a drag race, although I'll grant the YZ has better roll on power. It's not even that close when it comes to handling. The CR will take any line you want in a turn, and it has unparalleled straight line stability. From my experience, the YZ pushes in flat, bermless turns. I like riding bikes and I enjoyed my time on the YZ, but was very glad to get back to my CR.

I agree that the price on these mint bikes is high, but it wouldn't surprise me if they sell at or close to the asking price.

I remember selling my 02 cr 250 for the new 06 yz 250 after reading all reviews.
What step backwards that was.
Chassis and ergos of the yz are terrible compared to the last gen cr.
I still have an 02 cr250 now and still find it the best handling chassis I’ve ridden

I’ve owned both (CR & YZ) & share the same sentiments. A well set up late model CR will outperform a YZ & RM of that era.

Haha yeah I saw it coming into ktown Tn. There shooting fireworks off I saw a Honda wing the next 1 was a heart. Remember the 07 cr125 mecum bike it sold for 12,750 2 yrs ago inflation brings the price to 14k. Jmcr 250 is right the handling is amazing especially the feel of the front end. I like the 04 chassis better I mainly rode my 06 on a Friday night track. The 06 is super amazing there. Install the secret 03 kx hgs budd pipe it should lock horns with the 22 yz, but much quicker getting otp. 05 or 06 yz vs cr dirt rider test Keefer had the bikes about equil. The cr rushes threw the powerband quicker the yz is easier to ride. Mon to wed I signed a contract with a Serbian co in Chicago 4,953 in fixed expenses drops to 4,403 in 10 weeks. Dispatch is in Serbia I talked to them a few times great people. Truck was on empty I went 4 mi to get fuel and broke down antifreeze running out. Not the best start and I,m making payments on a International pile. I was supposed to get the kw it has electrical issues big surprise , it will b done in a few days. It has a manual so that’s great for snow storms. Walk away contract hope to make 10k or so. I guess I want to race pretty bad working for 5 Eastern European co.s . More strange than any movie but a trip for sure. I told one of the Serbian beautiful women I like your accent where is it from ? She said Serbia I said oh I know some Serbian moostakatoogan- we , she laughed and said no that’s not Serbian.
