Gee, I don't remember them doing that for Brian Myerscough at the 83 Unadilla USGP........😮

Where were you able to source the OEM 2005 replica graphics? Also have a 2005, but with stock OEM Honda 2007 graphics- which are great but not year correct. The OEM 2005 left side graphic 87127-KSK-710ZA is still available, but the right side is not. And the complete OEM radiator shrouds with OEM graphics are also no longer available from...
N3EJ is a good needle which yields very good throttle response and is a personal favorite. However it is slightly lean in the middle, but not a show stopper. 50/50 with your ethanol free pump and C12 or Sunoco Supreme leaded helps significantly. Be sure to have the squish clearance corrected on your head. Stock clearance is large.

Helpful post and thanks for your response. Can you provide more detail on the YZ450F mainshaft modification required for the YZ clutch? Can you provide manufacturer and part numbers of the required special bearings? Can you provide more detail on the required left crankcase mod? And are you able to modify customer cases in your own shop? Thanks again from...

1) Yes, both shafts have to be replaced and the YZ450F main shaft must be modified to work with the 250 clutch. 2) No, I use the two stroke cam & ratchet mechanism. 3) Two of the forks have to be replaced with the four stroke parts (Left & Center). 4) The left case needs precise machine work and two special bearings to accept the new gears and shafts. 5) Abysmal... I totally agree and made pretty much the exact changes you described to that system. I use pins from a 2005 - 2021 YZ125 engine and set them up...

1. Do you need to replace the YZ250 mainshaft and countershaft with YZ450F shafts when performing this retrofit? 2. Do you need to replace the YZ250 shifting cam with the YZ450F cam? 3. Do you need to replace the stock YZ250 shifting forks with YZ450F forks? 4. Are any YZ250 crankcase modifications required to accept the wider YZ450F gears? 5...

I usually run 33 Dunlop on the rear. I bought a spare/practice rear wheel and bought a Tusk 35 tire to go on it. I have been pleasantly surprised how well this tire works and holds up. I don’t know who makes it for RM but it’s not bad especially for the money.

PNWMX and the other posters discussing squish are absolutely correct. The stock squish on the 05-07 engines with dome top piston is 0.084"- extremely large and needs to be corrected. But tightening the squish clearance alone is not enough. The squish taper angle, squish width, dome shape, resulting head volume etc, etc are also very important. Take squish measurements and...

As smooth and awesome as this new 300SX is, it still requires more effort out of the rider compared to the 350. I”m an old 2stroke guy, still ride them often and feel I race them better. I think the 300 favors a more aggressive rider that is in good physical condition. I think a lot of older guys that bought these are probably starting to figure that out. I will use this 300 the same way I used my 2018 250Sx, a training bike, if you can do a 20-25 minute Moto on the 300, then you will be...

This sucks… someone at KtM reads these boards…. C”mon man… totally unacceptable for a brand new bike…. 10hrs on my 300SX, no issues and runs strong. Hope KTM gets the 125 sorted for you.

3 dog engagement system. Weakly supported 4th gear. Shifting pins that are rigidly staked to the shifting forks instead of a slide over-the-pin design. Pins actually slide in the crankcase pockets instead of remaining in a fixed position with only the forks being moved by the shifting cam. Questionable gear metallurgy/heat treatment. Does it shift well? Yes. Does it need...

They’re also known to have weak gears in the transmissions. Not sure if it has been addressed on the newer models.
