That’s not far, let me know names and parts. I’ll go pick up. I’ll film the scenario and post here. Seems pretty fun to be honest.

Cool, these guys confirm they want me to pick up? I’ll ship back if you guys pay the shipping.
Here’s my number if you want to call or text.

@EJRACING I just sent a text to my buddy that sees Varner from time to time, asking to get me his address or if he will bring your motor to glen helen this weekend that I would go pick it up for you.

Here's a reply I got from Terry about your motors.

Of course I heard that all the time from him. So take it for what it's worth.

Note now he'll send back my reed block.

So let's see what happens next.

Also be sure and give him reviews on Google. His social media is barely updated.

I just got a tracking number yesterday but I had help in making that happen, so glad to finally be done with this nightmare.

The only way you are going to get your engine back from him is show up at his shop or have someone show up and pick it up, there is absolutely nothing you will say to him over the phone that will get him to do the work, or just to send you back your stuff, trust me I know, he lives at his shop so he is almost always there, drives a black Ford truck, if it’s there he’s there, the BAR is a waste of time, the agent that got Karl’s engine done retired, the new guy is nice but ineffective

Is a sad story in so many aspects. How does someone with such a good name get in this hole? Depression or drug use I guess?

I know that he lost his son Nick in a racing accident, as a father, the pain that would bring would be unfathomable, I will also say that is absolutely no excuse to run a business the way he is currently. Even after all the crap I had to deal with over the last two years trying to get my engine back, I still wish the best to Terry and hope he can steer it back up on to the road and out of ditch, with that being said I can’t emphasize enough to the people that have engines, cylinders, or whatever with Varner, you need to get them back whichever way is best for you right now or write them off as a loss and move on.

Surprised nobody has suggested a few of you guys who have had your shit basically stolen by him get together and just sue him. Surely you have evidence through shipping dates and such that he has had your product as well as any communication with him on what he has and intended services.

Sure you can sue, but what are going to accomplish, spending your own money on the process is all that will happen, let’s be honest here there’s nothing to sue the guy basically has no net worth he lives in his rented out shop, sure you sue him in civil court and more than likely you’d win handily but good luck on collecting that judgment there’s just nothing there.

Sadly a lawsuit probably wouldn’t do much for the people he’s already screwed, but there could be a case for an injunction. This could shut down his business or create a court order that prevents him from doing business with customers outside of CA.

A little deeper down the rabbit hole, if he is deliberately taking customers’ money and parts to pay to complete previous jobs and this can be proved in court via forensic accounting, then there’s a possible case for mail fraud and wire fraud because he’s alleged to be defrauding customers via mailed payments and property deliver, and electronic communication and payment delivery.

This has transcended poor customer service and entered the realm of criminal, if all of these claims are true. I’m not an attorney, but if anyone has a friend practicing law, working in the DA’s office or law enforcement, this would be an interesting case to get a professional opinion.

That was my original thought to begin with. Filing a lawsuit would be beneficial regardless of the outcome in terms of getting your money or parts back. It would shut his business down and prevent him from being able to screw other people over as well. I'm sure it wouldn't take much accounting to provide evidence beyond reasonable doubt he has intentionally taken payment with no intention of performing the services. This is besides the point of him holding customers parts that do not belong to him and refusing to return them.

Here is the sad thing, while you sit there and feel sorry for him. I was just contacted by a guy that was gonna send his cr125 motor to Varner.
He is still giving quotes and taking in work
So stop feeling sorry for a guy that knows he is doing wrong but will continue to do it.
He needs to be shut down
He is a scammer period. I myself and most of you have went through death of love ones. But I can assure you as heart broken as I was I never took a clients money knowing damn well I was never ever gonna work on your shit and was totally gonna spend your money.

VARNER I will not stop posting reviews until I get my $1000 back your are a criminal and you know it

Varner just sent this to him
He sent it to me asking about Varner and his terrible reviews.
I said read the reviews and make your own decisions lol

Ryan the 03 CR125 is a good engine and is very tough .
Approximately $1300 with parts
$500 to split and assemble
$200 vapor blast it pretty
$600 in.parts
More power is $450 on top of that

Blows me away the amount of people he owes 1000+ bucks (not counting the engine itself) and they are fine just picking it up and going on their merry way. I had a guy owe me a grand on a pickup that started acting sketchy and I was ready drive hours to drain his fluids in a catch pan at night so he could start it up in the morning before work.
Ya I'm the same way. I got burned on a plumbing job I did so I went and cut out the water heater I put in. Threw it in the back of the van and left. Suffice to say I got a call from the state police after that lol

Get charged with theft, and criminal damage as well. Also a hot water service is a vital utility. Probably get sued by the owner.

I worked for a guy that made me run a rope behind the siding, just in case he didn’t get paid on Friday. He said he has hooked his truck up a few times to repo his work.

I’ve threatened to repo some of my work, once the customer figures out you don’t give a fuck about going to jail, I’ve always got paid.

If you had to do what I do for a living, you wouldn’t give a fuck. I’m going to get paid.

I had to look into taking a guy to small claims court. I knew it would be unlikely he would show and even less chance of him paying voluntarily. If I won and he didn't pay, I had options. I could've garnished wages, tax returns etc. I could've put a collection claim on any assets (house, cars, boats). So basically if he didn't pay he could never sell anything or put anything in his name until paid. Yes, interest is added. You may never get paid but it makes their life difficult until they pay up. Not sure how CA laws are.

Yup that’s the plan if I do not get paid soon.
And there is no off season where I live. As a matter of fact if there are seasons here the season is now as it’s desert season. However, the multiple local tracks are open year round. So you must be sitting in the Midwest

Local rider in Indiana sent off a motor to Terry in November of 2020. They are still getting the run around in January of 2022 about it almost being finished. That is when Terry answers his phone after calling him Multiple times a week for well over a year now. Dude is a real scumbag to the Moto community

You are never gonna get your stuff back
You must get on a plane and drive to his shop and get your stuff back.
I drive up there to that shit hole town and got my stuff back. Terry has some serious issues.
He has sent me $200 back of my $1000,
So it’s a start.
But I will not take any posts down til I get all my money back. I will keep posting and spreading the word. I like many others here can not afford to give $1000($800) of my hard ea nee money away for free. But Terry does not give a crap that I worked a week to make that money.
Had to take off work all day and drive up and back to get my engine back.
This started for me in July 2021 and here I’m still dealing with this bill shit!
I want my $800 back now Terry!
