Picked up a 22 KTM350SXF this week. Got Cone Valves on my 19. Plan on switching them over to the new bike, but would like to dial in the stock suspension before I pull them off. I’m 170lbs without gear. Vet novice. Any recommendations on settings y’all like. Only two rides on it and can get over the harshness of the slap downs. Same as on the 19 which convinced me to go with the Cone Valves on the 19.

Give them some time to break in… are you using an oring or the plastic ring to determine your air pressure setting?

Swap the cones. I tried to get the stocks tuned in and the front end just doesn’t stick. I set the suspension how MXA (I know, I know) and it was actually way better then off the show room floor. Swapping the cones made the front end stick and it rails.

Other setup I like is the 2 stroke air filter cage and the vented side cover. Had to bump up the idle with both of those because it would flame out.

Yes on ring on fork. Tried 146psi. Using all but about 1.5” of travel. So that seems about right. Perfect landings feel fine. But whenever I’m front high, the slap down is so annoying.

Try a touch more air pressure. I started at 145 and found heavy landings to be more harsh than I’d like. Bumped to 154 and have been happy ever since.

Think that’s what I was running when I tried it the other weekend. Was getting full travel on this little step over to immediate full brake then flat corner I wasn’t hitting perfect..could have used a little more weight transfer to the front cornering elsewhere but it wasn’t a bad starting point. I’m 173lbs

Got mine cleaned up and rode it yesterday. Awesome bike. Coming off a Suzuki two stroke it felt like the front end was tall and didn’t want to stick but you just have to hit it harder and commit..harder you ride it the better it works.
Just waiting on the Luxon bar mounts and holeshot device and am getting my
Kyb conversion and a revalve on the shock next week. Graphics and plastics didn’t last too long though. Did a few motos yesterday and the number plates are already mangled. Unfortunately I can’t run the twinwalls with crossbar cut like I like. Had to tie wire the start and stop button to the thick part of the bar as there isn’t much room with the map switch..also got the works connection elite throttle tube and it’s so nice with the bearing.

Think I want to try one out but will it haul my heft around ? 58yr old, only race vintage Bultacos few times a year, rest just practice, typical ride day is put in 3 x 20+ minute motos, 2-4 times a month. Had a '12 RMZ450 years ago, loved it but it felt like a boat anchor compared to my '18 TC250. Truth is I'm old, slow, reflexes not what they used to be and I'm not hitting the gym. 6'-2" 250lbs....not fat just big, have a football players body....an old washed up one at that :-) Anywho, thanks for any input/advice

Answer to your numberplate woes. MUST have. CMT carbon. Protects leading edge from peeling up from boot rub.

Others sell clear ones. But they look terrible as dirt collects behind them on each ride.

A 350 will still haul you around. I’m 260 in my gear, race intermediate 45+ and can hang with the 450’s no problem. Starts are the only area I give anything up.

The 350 has about the same peak HP as your RMZ did but weighs 20 lbs less and doesn't have the heavy crank inertia feel of a 450, which makes it feel even lighter.. It will give up some grunt of course but it still pulls just fine. I honestly think you'll really love it because of how smooth and easy to ride the motor is. My buddy is 61 and was a fast A-rider in the 70's-80's. He doesn't ride much anymore but he got on my 350 and was blown away how easy it is to ride. Map-1 is damn near electric. Just smooth and steady pull with no surprises.

I have a ‘18 250sx and a ‘22 350sxf. I’m faster and can ride longer on the 350. You won’t have a problem with it. My 250 dynoed 51 HP which is what the 350 has.

Anyone that's bought one post-covid, what're you paying OTD? Looking to get one (any color) here soon.

In WA, 10K+ tax and license, $400 setup fee, not a penny more. I know that isn't a steal, but we are living in 2021, so that is a decent deal. Most I have seen are 10.5K, plus the same fees and more.

We’re in Pa. Bought my 21 for 9530 OTD in fall of 20. Buddy bought his 22 for $9750 OTD in the spring this year. West Virginia. Just was quoted 10,700 OTD from a dealer in Jersey. Prices have definitely jumped

I took the bait and picked up my buddies 21 350SXf with 4.5 hours on it. Came with some great extra parts and decided to jump in with both feet.

Current bike is a 20.5 FE 450 for comparison and I love that bike, it has made me an arguably better more consistent rider. I also love riding 450s and don’t think they are untamed beasts waiting to rip your arms off and spit you off at any second… I love riding the torque around the track!

I took the time and set it up with my suspension, bars, heck I even put the FE seat on it so it would feel the same so i could focus on the motor and how it runs. Running vortex ecu from XPR, 91 pump ethanol free fuel, 14/51 gearing and two stroke filter cage…. wow is all I have to say!

1. this thing does everything my 450 does (i knew it would) but it seems overall quicker? not sure the right way to explain it.

2. noticeable handling improvement from less rotating mass in the motor. I could put it anywhere I wanted on the track and adjust my line mid corner if desired.

3. I do find it takes more energy to ride fast, i hate to say like a 250 two stroke because it isn’t like that, not even close, but i’m exhausted (in a good way) from riding today and rode less overall minutes than i usually do on my 450… however, I know I rode with more intensity longer and had better laps overall.

4. Throttle control and traction were excellent while exiting corners while leaned over.

I am very happy I took the chance and bought it, i’ve ridden one a few times but it’s so hard to tell when it isn’t your bike. I am looking forward to learning more about the 350 as I get more seat time on it over the next couple weeks.

Dare I say that the 450 might be going up for sale… it just might be…Anyone know someone that is interested in a 2020.5 FE with 46 hours?!

I feel like I got a steal on my 18 @ $6988 OTD in 2019. Pricing is nuts now and I am glad I am not in the market for a new one. Will be needing a 250 for the boy in another year so hope it cools off a bit.

Really tough to justify spending $10k+ for a dirt bike, even to myself.
