Thinking about heading to So Cal for my 40th birthday to ride a few tracks, check out a few shops, and probably spend a day doing the winery tour deal with the wife. I have a few questions for the locals
1. I hope to ride 3 days.... what tracks should I hit up and are they usually prepped during the week or only on weekends?
2. Best place to rent bike?
3. Nov or Dec time frame better or worse?

1. Glen Helen, Fox Raceway and Cahuilla probably. Always prepped, just keep an eye on each of their insta pages. Go to Glen Helen on Thursday and the other 2 whichever day.

2. California Motocross Holidays, MX vacations, Ride California. All do day rentals, I would go with California Motocross Holidays.

3. Either or should be good but someone else can comment. Start of January would mean you could go to Anaheim for SX.

If it were me, I’d do it in January so you can catch a round or two of Supercross (assuming everything goes as planned).

If you’re looking for the full immersion and are not concerned about tracks being a over crowded, show up December/January.
The buzz of A1 in SoCal is a pretty cool experience….with that said, you won’t be the only one and a lot of cool shops will be so busy with SX prep you’re not gonna get a lot of time with any insiders if that’s something you’re looking for.

With all that said, if riding is your main priority, you can’t beat November in SoCal riding wise. The kids aren’t on vacation until the last week and most of the moto tourist won’t be here until New Years week…

O, and Glen Helen/Cahuilla/state fair….and they are open through the week and weekends

From what I understand Temecula has some wineries and from there you can easily hit Pala, Elsinore, Perris, Statefair,Cahuilla and Langston Motor Sports. Head out towards Glen Helen and stop at Chaparral. You can also catch Troy Lee and Pro Circuit heading West towards the beaches, I believe FMF is near there as well but I have never been. November to May and you’ll never want to leave.

December is your best bet. November has a strong possibly for it to be stupid hot all month, usually mellowed out by December. For bike rentals hit up Dave @ MX vacations. Or me, I have a 2017 Honda I’ll let you rip for a few days. All tracks are pretty much prepped everyday they’re open. If you golf, there is two badass courses right outside the wineries. In Temecula you’re within an hour of 7 tracks. If you guys get bored in Temecula, old town is always fun, a lot of nice restaurants and night life

I have used MX Vacations, 3 times on trips to the USA. Always in January tied in with going to a couple of Super Cross races.
Always plenty of pro riders at the practice tracks. As others have mentioned lots of Moto related places to visit.
A great winery is Motodoffo in Temecula, has bikes on display

I'd second CMH. Had a great time with them a few years ago. And check out Cahuilla for sure -- two really nice, well-prepped tracks at your disposal. Have a great time.

Cahuilla Creek is a must-do, in my opinion. I actually just moved from central CA to Chattanooga.. @Rucka what are the good tracks out here?

I'll be heading to wmmx this weekend if their open. R3 in Jamestown is another option, but its a long drive for you. Your best options are probably wmmx and north ga or Alabama tracks. I just got back into riding after a 15 year hiatus. Its honestly been a bit disappointing in regards to options. There is one other place called Little Valley Mx just north of Knoxville, but I haven't been there yet

You’re only about 30 mins from Oceanside as well if you’d care to hit the beach, couple good restaurants there on the water. If you have any questions on anything to do or places to go see feel free to contact me while you’re in town

It appears there's some healthy competition for bike rentals in Socal these days.

Like true track snacks?! That would be an impressive accommodation to include!

When I go, my two favorites are Cahuilla and LACR. Before I went on our first trip down, I spent hours on Youtube trying to figure out how to best spend my 4 days there. I rode Fox, LACR, Cahuilla, Perris, and Milestone. There's videos of all of them on my channel.

Here's some videos from last years trip of my two favorites. Have an awesome time.
