10 new bikes stolen from dealer in Finland also. Security cams turned, fences cut and 10 bikes build from crates and pushed to truck or so. I was thinking that is huge until this news... 57 bikes!

Montreal is next level theft. I went to a race there and stayed at a motel. Family from Michigan had a new Escalade, enclosed trailer and full set up. Backed it up to a tree so no one could open the trailer gate but they just stole the lot. I won't forget walking out at the crack of dawn and seeing the dad sitting on a bench with his head in his hands just mind fucked over what he had lost and obviously trying to figure out how he was even going to get home. For sure the hotel guys tipped someone off because other racers got ripped too. Bastards.

Most of those bikes are completely useless until they’ve been registered with KTMs system. It’s a pain in the ass for us dealers but unless the thieves intend to strip them for parts(likely) they’ll be mostly useless.

This is going to directly affect my paycheque, I had deposits on 4 KTMs, I wonder how many I’ll have to refund. Fucking thieves, I hope they all rot in cells.
I was wondering about that. I can’t imagine the KTM ecu is impossible to hack? No idea though.
The "easy" solution is to buy a third party ECU. Problem solved...

Are you saying that they built the bikes up from inside crates then pushed them out? If so, that's crazy.

How long would it take to steal 57 bikes?
Not long if they just so happened to be left in an unattended trailer Whistling

It’s Montreal, no surprise. Auto theft capital of Canada, organized crime, port city…
Aftermarket ECU’s are gonna be a hot item.

Quebec is brutal for theft. Couple years back I was up on a sled trip and a bunch were lifted from my hotel overnight. Talked to the cops in the AM (station right across street from hotel) and they told me the thieves went as far as to steal the police sleds from the gated compound behind the station.

Must be something in that export they drink....

If so I hope the thieves remember to charge the dealerships their customary assembly and set up fees.

Pretty hard to unload 57 bikes without tripping up. My bet is they get caught.

The ECU will not come alive until it's unlocked using KTM sofrware. I've been told that each bike has a code which is assigned to the VIN # of the bike. These need to match in order to unlock the OEM ECU.

There is a Harley Davidson in Cape Town that has been locked due to a malfunction. The Harley dealer here needs to go all the way up the chain to receive new coding or whatever it is they need in order to reprogram.

The KTMs are on a similar code. It will take a very special person the hack the system.

I'm not very well versed with these issues and pretty sure there are some Vitard specialists who can enlighten us.

I know it's north of the border but i would still expect Profeshanal125 to have some insider info involving this, strippers and a few 8-balls of coke. Blink

Oh I’m sure it’s a loosely based motorcycle club but it’s definitely not the 12 o’clock bro”s.
If you’ve ever been to Montreal you know who I’m talking about. They also tend to work closely with an Italian social club in the province.

What always blows me away is there are incredibly intelligent and successful people everywhere that get up every day and make an honest days wage that couldn't, for the life of them, figure out how to unlock a KTM ecu. I'm not dumb, but I wouldn't even know where to start.

And then there are people that can't put a complete sentence together and haven't worked in years that will be able to unlock those ecu's with a toothbrush, a rubber band and a pocket full of pesos. If they worked as hard a a legit trade instead of being a lowlife, they'd probably be wealthy. Dizzy
