Glen Helen Hip Jump - Oops (Video)

SRA Grand Prix, 2nd lap, cooked the hip jump, went long, bounced up on the side of the bank and went into a classic flying-W, swapped and got violently high sided. 6D helmet did it's job and saved me yet again. It's been a few years since I've had a good one and I'm thankful (at 48 yrs old) to be able to start my own bike (kickstarter) and ride back to our pit.

Ended up with two broken ribs and bloody elbows and a contusion on my temple yet, never lost consciousness and was absolutely 100% clear headed. Again, huge love to 6D.

Love that jump but it's so sketchy some days. I don't jump it if it's windy. There should be a flagger up there at all times

Damn near did the same thing once. Ripped my foot off the the peg but the entire time I was in the air I was expecting that exact result. Good luck with the ribs!

Big crash! I’m not sure what’s going on but I’ve had some buddies getting busted up recently. My buddy broke 7 ribs and collapsed a lung but was also wearing a 6D and he is doing ok. Seems like a lot of crashes recently

That was rough man. That’s the only part of that track that sketches me out. I swear that lip throws me different every lap lol

That thing sketch’s me out also..especially when you come around mid moto and they soaked the entire landing when it was dry before.

O man, hope you are feeling ok. This jump has tried to claim me a few times and I definitely puckered up. Love when it develops bumps up the face and my bike goes airborne before I think I'm at the end of the lip.
