In honor of my 90 year old father-in-law, whom just fell off his workshop roof (repairing hurricane damage), drove himself to the hospital, found to have a broken collarbone and a laceration on his noggin, then drove his badass self home with a sling and head full of stitches...........

Who are some MX badasses of the same mold?

Reedy- everyone remembers the 2011 chadapult when he miraculously remounted to finish the race and retain the championship lead.
But how about 2008 SX- crashes in practice, ends up in hospital, books himself out, runs the heat and LCQ, makes the main, crashes again, but still finishes to again retain the championship lead, all with a broken shoulder blade.

Might be unpopular opinion but anyone who has or has tried to qualify for a pro national or MXGP falls into that category for me. If your going all time then the 500cc MXGP riders from the 70’s, 80’s and early 90’s.

Did Ryan Hughes race with a taped up broken leg?
Pastrana race with a broken wrist?
Jmart with broken fingers? Wrist?
Broc Hepler (see avatar) with blood all over his bike from some laceration?
McGrath with a broken bone in his lower extremity?

I totally agree my son is the baddest mofo I know he tried to qualify for his first pro National six weeks out of surgery from a broken tibia! plate and 5 screws! Privateers definitely deserve more recognition!

Herlings winning a GP with a fractured scapulae is definitely among the most recent badasses.

Jess Pettis. He raced with with 3 fractured vertebraes and a cracked sternum at the last round in order to secure 2nd place in the outdoor championship this summer.

Hell. Just watching Herlings ride makes me think badass. He is a lot like Bubba——— win or die trying.

Also, remember when RC raced the MXDN and beat the worlds best with a bum knee? He's tough as a two dollar steak!

MA800 rode with a busted up knee and put a target on it for Josh Grant.

Who out there has this pic? I miss those days when MA800 would duke it out with anyone in the top 5. He also got ran over by the whole field damn near one race also.

Eric Goebers also raced with a broken leg.

My vote for toughness would be the comeback king Doug Henry.

Jeff Fredette, 34 ISDE’s, finished 33, don’t think any American will ever beat that record. I once read he dismantled a kdx200, bagged, checked it on the air line, then assembled it when he got to the ISDE.

I know he’s not a mx’er but 33 ISDE finishes ain’t easy.
