This.

And wasting a shitton of the worlds energy for absolutely no reason at all.

Bitcoin was supposed to be this "bank free" currency and everything was supposed to be so great and free and you can use it anywhere and its the best thing in the world. We are 12 years deep at this point and all it has been doing is eating a fuckton of energy that could be used elsewhere and it isnt useful for anything.

Someone mentioned pyramid scheme and thats exactly what it is. Altcoins are even worse.

At least I believe that the Bitcoin creaters originally had good intentions and a dream of making a state/bank free currency only to have it fail to do that massively. These altcoin bullshit are just scams.
You are clueless.

After more than a decade of availability, the actual usage of Bitcoin to conduct daily transactions still seems to be very, very rare. It hasn’t even come close to being ‘stable’ either.

Other than baseless speculation, there doesn’t appear to be much rhyme or reason for its value, and the best way you can visualize it is a large school of minnows that suddenly change direction because the lead fish does.

I understand the desire for many to see the price rise, but the basics of it have not come close to panning out as what we were told years ago. The introduction of new cryptos without any actual worth just further confirms the ponzi-esque feel of it all.

That being said, I’ve bought some of them for fun myself, but don’t think I’d cash in my retirement accounts for them right now.

It's hard to understand how someone with a functioning brain would think this is not a fast and very effective way to waste his money

Yup. They are warming you up to the idea of a full digital economy where every transaction is monitored in real time. A little late to the party. Biden wants the IRS to have full disclosure of your bank account. What you make and what you spend. You know, so they can accurately steal the correct amount of taxes from you. I’m pretty sure you can see where this will end up going…..this may make crypto currency more appealing to those that don’t want the government snooping around where they shouldn’t be.

However, with EVERY transaction over $600 having to be disclosed to the IRS, HOW will you CASH OUT say $1000-$20,000 of crypto into your bank account so you can actually spend it, the IRS will be ALL OVER IT WITH THEIR HANDS OUT WANTING THEIR CUT IN TAXES AT THE END OF THE YEAR?

ive even read that the BIS or World Bank want to link your web page browsing history to your credit score

kind of like chinas social credit score..if you read too much fox news or breitbart, you will be deemed a nazi or some sort of wacko and your score will go down

Some of y’all should read the book “The Creature From Jekyll Island” and you’ll understand why crypto is so important.

Warning, it’s like a 600 page book and that’s probably more reading than most vitards have done in a lifetime 🤣

2nd Warning, it’s pretty scary how big of sham our current banking/monetary system is once you start putting the pieces together.

most people who know crypto also know that our current banking system is a fraud too

BUT..the same people who control the banking system want these currencys to be outlawed and they want to roll out their own currencys

the real solution to this is some sort of labor backed note, or an indexed dollar based on labor/gold/silver/oil etc

I bet you’re right.

Cole seems to be doing anything and everything he can to avoid getting a real job. I don’t blame him. I actually hope eventually something “hits” for him and he can continue to live a healthy and happy life on his own terms.

The dude seems to have a lot of fun.

That book was on my list of books to read until I saw some of the other books the author wrote.

There are risks in every financial decision we make and I agree that some of these small cap coins are very risky and ones I will stay away from. I have a little invested in a bunch of different coins, no life changing amounts if they go belly up, but definitely life improvements if they prove to be a good product. No point leaving it all in the bank you ain't earning shit there.

Hell thanks to investing in polkadot and getting out at the right time that paid for a brand new 2021 yz 250 earlier this year. Turned 2k into 9k in a matter of months.

Interesting news. Please tell me it's not a pump-and-dump. There's been so much controversy around influencers and crypto scams. I'd hate to see Cole get involved in it. He has always seemed like a trustworthy dude but it's hard to trust these crypto endeavors, no matter who's backing them, at least for me. What are your thoughts?

I respect the hustle, but it seems like Cole is throwing the kitchen sink at trying to monetize a personal brand that just doesn't outwardly seem as significant as the people around him probably say it is.

He is not a celebrity. He is not a major social media presence, although that is clearly his goal. His most significant standing from a marketing standpoint is still just as a former top-level (but not elite) pro athlete from a niche sport.

Cole probably is something of a big-shot inside a bubble of Bro-Cal... But would you buy crypto from a guy whose branding is that he used to be the 7th best frisbee golfer?

FUNNY: The last girl I was with we tried pump and dump and she never called me back.

SERIOUSLY:

But actually, setting aside a small amount of money to invest in crypto is not a bad choice these days. Because the US debt is in the trillions and the dollar will not be worth shit and the stock market is looking to correct or crash for a while again, a lot of large firm investor moving large portions to crypto.

For beginner, my advice is setup at minimum a coinbase wallet at https://www.coinbase.com/ then just setup a schedule purchase at least "ETH" say $20-50 week. "ETH" is about to switch to "proof of stake" end of this year which will create some movement. This will also give you a wallet address to receive or pay in crypto. Set it and forget for a year and we will see what happens. The predictions are optimistic, but experts say "ETH" could pop like BITCOIN or more. Also as you purchase, they are good about providing information and educating you as you go to learn more about crypto and where it falls into the economy and the future. I like the fact they vetted my identity as well before allowing me to do any transactions.

Beginner warning.. as mention earlier in thread, crypto like DOGE and smaller known cryptos are highly volatile. I recommend ETH as it's the most popular right now with investor, and in the investors community opinion, the one to purchase right now in 2021. Keep in mind you can purchase a percentage of 1 coin. So don't be intimidated to buy small chunks of BIT or ETH as 1 coin cost in the thousands. .
