Quick summary. A 39 yr old member of the family, married with 2 kids. He works with a bunch of guys who happen to love moto/dirt bikes. So Kevin, who used to ride in his teens/twenties goes out and buys a old RM250 to go riding with the work crew. Long story short he wads it up terribly within the first few rides of having the bike, resulting n some pretty serious injuries that kept him away from work for a solid 6 weeks or so. Anyway his boss felt like shit because he was the one trying to get him into riding again.

So Kevin goes into work a couple weeks ago and finds a brand new KTM in the shop, Lowered to fit his smaller stature body and the suspension was redone for his weight/ability. Now this is a small scale employer who did this for him. Kevin could not believe it and neither could I. What a great boss 👍

I’m not sure what he got for the RM but he sold it while he was out of work. I’m not too sure if the RM was too much bike for him, it was more of him trying to get up to speed after a decade or so of no bike. He said this KTM has a tuner on it that mellows it out if needed

Yeah, thats good stuff for sure. The bike alone is a pretty great thing to do, but the extra steps to have it reworked to make it as safe as possible is really the cherry on top. Kudos all around.

At first I was thinking you were referring to a racer who has been “Bossing” all the other riders around on the track…as in DF14. Before I opened the thread I was trying to think of a “Real boss” that was deserving of that title. Then I read the thread…NICE! I was wrong, and you are right for calling that guy boss of the year. Take care of your employees and they will take care of you. Tell me that guy isn’t going to put in a little extra pride in his work now and talk the company up every chance he has.

My boss sucks. I’m gonna go ask him if he’ll buy me a bike.

Edit: he said no. There was a word in front of it and then a get back to work at the end of it.

I wish some of my employees rode moto. I had a vendor one time that did. We had business meetings at the track on occasion.

That’s awesome. Would imagine the bitching and moaning from the other employees if that happened at my work

One of my best friends worked for EA Sports at their corporate office back in the day and was going to go riding after work. Backed his truck into a spot right in front of the office, tailgate up against a tree so it couldn't open, in plain view of the front desk lobby and receptionist. This was in a very high end business park area in Calabassas (of Kardashian fame). Not a high crime area.

Sometime in the middle of the day someone yanked the bike over the side of his truck. He was devastated. First job out of college so I don't think he was making big bucks at the time

His boss heard about it and gave him the company credit card and told him to go to the local dealer and pick out a bike and to keep it hush to his co-workers. Always thought that was a cool story. He upgraded to a brand new CRF250

Best part is about 5 years later he gets a call from a police impound yard in Downtown LA and they had his bike. Paid the $150 or so to get it out of storage. Only needed some TLC, new tires, levers etc and he sold it for like $2500.
