I

I got a 22 Fly Carbon and it is on point. I have been wearing Bell for 8 yrs and decided to try a different brand. After a lot of reading you all’s reviews on the different brands, I went with Fly based on the multiple safety features and weight.
It fits my head just like the Bell so I was happy about that for sure but really impressed with the safety features packed into 2.9 lbs.

I picked one up myself this past week after compromising my Fly F2 Carbon helmet the other month. I tried the 6D, Arai, Fox, Bell ,etc. The Fly just fit my head and felt the best to me. Also helps to have quite the packed list of safety features with it. Definitely a comfortable helmet and has been great for me so far.

How do you go fitting goggles into it? Last Fly helmet I owned had a tiny eye port that hardly any goggles fit

I use the 100% Armegas, racecrafts, and Oakley frontline with noooo issue putting goggles into the eye port.

Did your thread title get cut off?

I think a Fly helmet will replace my Bell when the time comes. Although their designs are underwhelming this year, hopefully they’re a bit more original next release.

Sweet, I run Frontlines as I wear glasses and recently wrote off my last Bell with an over the bars excursion. Might try on a new Fly to replace it

Just happen to have a pic of it for you... easily fits without hitting nose piece, etc.

I also have a Fly cc helmet. Love it, cheeks where a little tight at first. After the first few times wearing it at home they fit great. Very light and cooler on the head to wear. My 100 googles fit fine. I also think there is less sound when wearing it.

Just an FYI of the title. The fly Formula Carbon (which is what you have) is a little different from the Fly Formula CC in the thread title. The CC is the cheaper carbon composite which has many of the same features with venting and Rheon but it isn't the same shell as the Carbon model. The CC is cheaper and a bit heavier. Doesn't come with a nice helmet bag either. I love my Fly carbon helmets but I am about to head into the Bell Moto 10 world. Mine came in yesterday. We will see what the differences will be soon enough.

Does it have the ECE 22.06 sticker, or just ECE 22.05? If so, can you please post a pic?

For some reason, nobody is publishing that their helmets meet ECE 22.06. Probably because they don't.

Leatt is the only one I've been able to confirm, and they had it almost a year ago.

how is fitment compared to the MOTO 9 - I wear a medium (too tight actually lol), from experience would you jump to a large in this helmet. No local dealers in Canada carry this so would be a no return deal.

Thanks

Yeah, I noticed that too. I kinda weird why most companies don't have it yet

Fixed title. I had CC in my head when posting.

I will look when I get home. I don't pay attention to those on the helmet but will take a picture and post it.

I wear and wore the Moto 9 Carbon then the Flex Medium size with 45mm cheek pads. Compared to those, the FLY Formula Carbon is slightly bigger and I mean slightly and feels more seated on my head right out of the box where the Bell broke in to fit well. The cheek pads seem to be same as the 45mm in the Bell.

DOT and ECE 22.05

Preston... my cheek pads in the large fly helmet say 35mm on the inside when I cleaned them for reference.

I’ve tried them all on and fly fits me the best, hate buying helmets, always have problems with fitment.

I have 2 rides on my Formula CC. Wouldn’t you know I had a high side moment and got to try out the new tech on this beauty. A medium level hit to the back of the helmet. I could feel the hit of course but suffered no headache or after effects. I went from a 6 year old Fox V3. Glad I had this one on!

I just checked the cheek pads in mine and they are 45MM.
I think I will try a Leatt 9.5 Carbon next, it has similar tech in it and weighs 2.63 lbs.

Airoh Aviator 3 that released last fall has the ECE 22.06 certification.

I really, really like my Fly Formula helmet (although mine is the CC) *EXCEPT* I wish the mouth guard was closer to my face. I wore Bell Moto 9's for the last 5-7 years or so and when I started wearing the Fly I started getting roosted in my mouth/lips/nose like a mutha-effer. Maybe I need some new fangled goggles with more nose protection (I use Oakley O-frames), but I had to go back to my Bell on busy days at the track. On private days or low turnout I wear the Fly.

I think the Bell helmets have the closest to the face chin guard except the Arai and I guess I am just used to not worrying about getting pelted in the lip!

I had been a long time Bell Moto 9 guy, tried a Shoei-Evo for a few months and it just didnt really fit me. Recently bought a Fly Formula CC and I literally could not be happier! The helmet is AMAZING. Its light weight, vents super well, and offers so many high tech safety features.

The only thing that I could use is the magnetic cheek pads like the Bell Helmets, but I understand that would only add on additional unnessecary weight. So its not really an issue at all.
