It makes it unreal. My cousin has that with a jd jetting kit for the stock carb and the engine is amazing. So strong everywhere.
I am sure they are mega good once dialed, but most modern 450s you just add gas, press a button and ride an engine that can meet any conditon without messing in the pits
But that’s what makes the 2 strokes fun, is that they take a bit of effort. But when you get them right and are having a good day yourself, those days are magical I think!

I had a beautiful 2018 TC250. Traded it for a 450 after 6 months. Looking back if I would have put a lectron, better fuel, and a flywheel weight I would have grown to love it. It didnt have the hit I wanted and I wish I would have kept it.
Not a hater, just reality. I’ve been beat by riders on two strokes. That just means they would have put even more time on me if they were on a 450 four stroke.
Pretty sure the next year they started handicapping the 250T again….. if MX sports had ANY balls at all, they would allow the 250T to compete in the Pro Nationals ….. solely based on the fact of cost to participate….
Then they spend all that money on a lectron, that simple fix isn't so simple when you need to swap out air box boot and throttle cable etc only to have a carb with the choke on the wrong side and if it doesn't run perfect off the bat, you don't know how to adjust.
I have over 300hrs on mikunis since ktm switched and zero problems. I’ve came to the conclusion that anyone who bitches about the kuni’s simply can not jet a bike.

Some riders really do like riding a 2 stroke. They seem to sell a lot of them. There's no right or wrong though.
But all that said, jetting can be a pain in the ass.
I ride a 21 KX 250 for my primary bike. A while back I bought a mint 19 KTM 150 to play on. It's a fun bike, but I wouldn't want it to be my only bike.
They must be decent for off road I figure.

The gear ratios are weird, but it works.
I was very close to buying a tc, even had a deal lined up on one but something was holding me back. Started to get more interested in the TE as most of the racing I do is off road now and I have my Rm set up for Moto anyway. Another big pull is the fact that TE’s are road legal here.
So that’s the way I went, 19 TE 250, light use, going to race it Sunday and see how I get on with it! First Austrian bike and certainly first fuel injected 2 stroke. Sunday can’t come soon enough!

Loved that bike, also sold with under 10 hrs to go back to 350.
I tried it twice doubled down and lost both times i will not even consider a 3rd time around. Thats my 2 cents
