Might be somewhat of a stretch and I know you can't compare guys by how they did in different classes buuuuutttttt.
Last year Dylan beat J-Mart for the 250 title but he was on an obviously better bike and in my opinion J-Mart was the faster guy. This year with Dylan so far being the fastest and most consistent rider outdoors it begs the question, how would J-Mart do?
I'm in no way, shape or form saying J-Mart would dominate but I am saying if I was a factory team manager I would get him on one of my 450's.

Hopefully he can get a decent 450 ride next year and we will finally see. Poor guy has had a rough few years, definitely deserves his luck to turn around.

I dont see Jmart keeping up with Ferrandis on 450 at any track.. no one can.
So, being torn up and going 5-3 at Red Bud didn't happen? That's not luck, that's guts, heart and talent.
The 2021 HRC 250 is not as good as a star Yamaha engine either but Jett makes up for that with other qualitys, just as Stewart did on his 125 back in -04.
If it was all about power, the 250’s would not be able to make the same laptimes as the 450’s..
He should have moved up a few years ago, get his feet wet, have some good rides and progress his career.
Instead he’s fighting it out in a young mans class and dealt with injuries multiple seasons now.
I seriously doubt at this point he will have any meaningful 450 career. I say that as a huge huge fan. Loved watching his back to back MX championship years. Dude was incredible.
I think he’s now waited too long, too many injuries.
Is the starbikes faster? Yes.. can you win on a Honda? Yes. Were Ferrandis the better rider last year? Yes…
I'm not sure you are aware of this yet but your example of Jett kind of makes my point. Jett is a generational talent and by all rights should be dominating the class this year.
Yes the Star Yamaha was a better bike. But people trying to say that JMart lost last years title because Ferrandis was on a better bike are just wrong. If that would truly have been the case, it's time we start putting way higher result demands on every single current Star Racing Yamaha rider.
Did Ferrandis have a better bike? Yes. Was that the sole or biggest reason that JMart lost the title? Nope, Ferrandis was and is better.

This whole post went off the rails, I'm not taking anything away from Ferrandis, I'm just saying that if I was a 450 team manager I'd have J-Mart locked up tomorrow. To throw another guy into it, I'm an Anderson fan but if I had to bet my house on him winning a SX title next year or J-Mart winning a 450 outdoor title next year my money is on J-Mart.
JMart had an unforced crash at Thunder Valley and broke his fingers practising not because he was punted.
Guy has a lot of aches and pains and needs to get his wrist fixed before he'll be back in the hunt.
You could see him wincing at Redbud after average landings.
He's not doing anything nasty to Dylan
Can't bench race without some child saying you're on his nuts. SMDH
