Been running the Battlecross X40 in the rear and Battlecross X-30 in front.

Riding at So Cal tracks on a YZ250 smoker. Always had a problem with Dunlops wearing so fast. Are the new Dunlops any better? The Bridgestones def wear well and very predictable in most conditions.

I have heard good things about the mx53 but I haven't tried them myself.

I used to run the same x30/x40 combo on my yz250. I liked the x40 in most conditions other than sand or mud. The x30 front however had kind of a vague feeling. Switched to a Maxxis MX ST and it is better than the x30 in any condition from sand to hard pack.

Nothing wears as long as an x40 rear. I am constantly impressed by how well it hooks up on a wide variety of tracks.

The X20s hooks up a lot like the Dunlop 33s but wear a lot better.

I ran the X30 front and rear for years. I recently switched to X20 on the rear with a mouse bib tube and M59 standard tube on the front. I really like the rear setup, provides amazing traction. The front I have not made a decision on. I ride in the Mojave desert and mountain ranges around. KTM 350 XCF

X20 rear is comparable to the mx33 or whatever it is. I never liked the x30 front. It packs really bad if it’s not hard pack and then doesn’t shed out of the lugs.

X30 front/X40 rear is my go-to combo! Always super predictable and wears a lot longer then the Dunlops. Great grip, easy mounting, lower weight. What's not to like? Also i really like the Starcross 5 mediums. The X40 is just a bit better on hardpack but still great on soft to intermediate.

I put 40 hours on a x30 rear back in 2016 before the Knobbies started to go missing

So do Dunlops still round off pretty quickly? If so, it seems like they've always done that.

If you can, add the riding conditions you are riding in.

I run x20's front and rear on my MXer.

And x30's front and rear on my Off Road racer.

I cant make a comparison to other brands as this is literally the only tire I've ran the last 5 years. But Im happy with the wear I get and the performance. The x20 is great when the track is soft & loamy. When it dries out and things get slick Im less happy and it starts to wear fast but that's more a function of the wrong tire for the job.

I get 20-25 hours out of a set of x20's riding VERY well prepped tracks.

Yep, been running the same X30 front, X40 rear set up on my KX450 and KX500 for a couple of years now.

With the Dunlop 3S tires hard to get I have gone back to the Bridgestone M59 and it's still a great tire

I run X20's in the winter time here in SoCal. They work really well when its cooler out because the tracks hold water well. A lot of confidence in the slick stuff. They also work really well in the real soft stuff at cahuilla and pala on a dry day. I run X30's basically from April to November. Great tires imo. However, the x30's can only barely creep into the moist dirt range before you start losing confidence in them.

I'm pretty picky with my tires and change them more often than other people i'd imagine. I can get about 15-17 hours out of the x20's when the dirt is softer, a little less if the tracks dry up. I go about 12-15 hours on X30's throughout the summer time. When i ran Dunlop MX32's i'd only get about 8 hours until either a knob chunked or the traction really started getting sloppy to the point i'd feel less confident, so they didnt last long for me. Dunlops definitely wear faster but they also may have a hair more grip when brand new.

For a guy like me who rides pretty often but doesn't race so much, the Bridgestones are a great choice for long, consistent wear and performance.

Here's a clip of me from Sunday with a X20 front and X30 rear. Both tires do very well in intermediate/dry conditions. I stretched out my x20 usage a little into the hotter season just to see how far towards intermediate terrain it would handle. It does very well in intermediate terrain as well and even gives you some hints of confident in the occasional hard packed.

You know, my new YZ250F came with the X20 tires and I am impressed so far. Good grip and decent wear. No knobs chunking off yet. I’m considering ordering another set because the price isn’t too bad and they are available.

Size wise comparing the rear X20 to MX33 the Bridgstone looks much wider than the Dunlop even though they are the same size.

I have normally run the Dunlop MX3S or MX33 and I love them. The only thing is the wear is a little less than desirable so I tried a set of X30's and didn't like them, the wear was really good but just felt like I didn't have the traction or stability that I normally have with the Dunlops.

In the future I may order as set of the X20's and try them next if they have the same wear as the X30's and grip more like the MX3s.
