Well thats not Matthes' problem. He stated that it was an editorial(editorial:An article in a publication expressing the opinion of its editors or publishers.)
How about some responsibility by the reader to not take an editorial piece as statement of fact but opinion as it is defined?
Trip wrote:Oh and whe someone enjoys reading about ones career falling apart, well that says alot about that person.
Well I enjoyed reading the piece but not because it was about a career falling apart; because it read to me like an indirect line of communication to let J-Law know he has to be the one to pull it all together and that there can be hope.
Maybe the fact that you read it as "enjoy's reading about ones career falling apart" says more about your perspective?

More J Law.....less Mathes.
Mathes......funny like 4 seasons ago and now irrelevant in the pits.
No one under 30 with a National point is willing to talk to him these day's.
The observations became opinions and now he's fucked in the paddock.
You think it's just Lawrence handlers?
He apologized in the first two paragraphs of his J Law story so even he knew before he wrote it.........that he himself was and is a douchebag.
Expect more puff pieces with Larry B and then further irrelevancy.
don't you feel ridiculous to bad talk who gives publicity to what j-law does now....????
you said that all his sponsor wanted was that publicity.........you said his sponsor got more from him then from the ones racing..........
now that you know you are wrong, that the bratt is a fluke and the stupidity culture din't stick to mx.......now you turn it all around.....talk bad to all you said before....and you are wright again..........props to you....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and i will just keep on laughing about it.....and folowing the real racers and their races, cuz i´m in it for the motocross....!!!!!!!!!!!
IMO, Matthes' observations is great stuff...ehhh.. minus the nicknames he throws out each week.
Thanks knowitallnovice!
Pit Row
Sorry, my age is showing again...
it's a shame jlaw isn't getting help and...
it's a shame jason is being picked on and...
jason's parents were abducted by aliens 2 days after he was born and a small herd of muskrats raised him and...
jason can beat you any day of the week and.....
jason never cut off that dude and got his ass kicked for it at elsinore and...
jason wasn't watching porn on his dvd player on a commercial flight with children and concerned parents complaining and...
jason didn't bite no ear off and....
you guys crack my ass off...he fucked up...HE fucked up, clearly HE IS a fuckup, there's a million of em...too bad, boohoo, me oh my oh. let him do his time, repent, pay his dues or whatever the hell and then we can start to feel sorry for him or give him praise...IF he has his shit together.
how about feeling sorry or giving praise to the other million racers that deserve it and quit sounding like a goddamn bunch of bleeding heart green peacers for crying out loud over "jlaw"?
maybe if somebody would have kicked his ass a time or two and showed him some light he wouldn't be where he is today but the golden goose rarely gets its ass clocked now does it?
it takes a lot of rain and very little sunshine to keep a rainbow shining and jlaws leprechauns ain't real stupid it appears...sheesh.
goddamn people.....
lmao at you...not jlaw. feel sorry for
the kid but it doesn't make him not a fuckup
...jlaw and bobbym, hmmmm.LET'S PARTY!!!!!
Seems like every week, writers publish something that is mostly opinion, in regards to rider A or series B or season C. WTF is the problem with that? I can start a website and post an article that gas is going to hit $4 per gallon come December, am I predicting the future? Of course, nobody wants to see gas at $4 per gallon, but if it happens, I look like a genius and can say "I told you so." The internet, magazines and newspapers are filled with this type of stuff, what is the problem when its presented properly?
Matthes is at almost every race and in the mix, therefore, he can form an opinion that is stronger than some random person writing about moto, wouldn't you think? Would a MX magazine pay for an article with John Smith's opinion, or Matthes? Either way, its ONLY an opinion. The old saying, opinions are like assholes, everyone has one, holds true here. If you have a different opinion than him, state yours and provide support to back yours up. Attacking him as a person is pointless, especially when you don't know him as a person.
People arguing an opinion really show their level of education in their rebuttals, they usually look stupid because they have no basis for the counter argument. Usually it's something irrelevant like "his grammar sucks" or "he didn't get the facts" or "he didn't interview so and so." Well no shit sherlock, he couldn't get facts because, currently, there are not many to get, or his grammar was not the topic or the article was not presented as an interview, so again, counter with something relevant. Few on here do that, its almost comedic. Keep in mind, there is not as big a challenge or risk taken when writing only facts, those assignments are more cut and dry and anyone with the facts first has the advantage.
Anyone with a different opinion on J-Law, post your opinion, support it however you wish, then take it from there, in a year, or less, we will see who's opinion was right and who's was wrong, thus making the winner a little more credible. If your are unable to have an intelligent discussion, then STFU and move on, go argue on a street corner or in your local bar, you're more likely to meet someone with the same IQ and then a fair battle will ensue, just add alcohol.
