Once you get outside of the major cities, the California stereotypes start falling apart pretty fast.

Still, there are plenty of places where you can get a decent home for $120k, Maine for example. But, if you wanted a place to live for $120k in California, you gotta be a little...creative.

Those places are nice. You need a helicopter to get to the grocery store though Smile . I've been to most of those places.

I’m from the Florida Panhandle and live in California now. You couldn’t pay me to go back and live another year in Florida. So I’d imagine it’s pretty easy to not want to go there if you’re able to land a job at a branch of the top team in the sport and stay in your home.

A little town right outside of Pensacola, so basically Southern Alabama. But I went to college in Orlando, raced all over the state, and have lived in South Florida as well. People don’t realize how different the state is by region!

I remember you coming out to our track in Milton and pumping Engine Ice way back in the day!

No matter where you live if your employer writes your check from a state with income tax, you are getting taxed
That’s not true at all, what makes you say that?

How come Cali alone is the 5th largest economy in the world if it has the worst demography ?

Yup it's a melting pot (that doesn't melt) with so many issues but that precisely provides advantage.

If it's like TX, they get you on property taxes. I didn't pay income tax, but I paid shit tons in property taxes compared to Kansas. I had a $300 flatbed trailer, cost me $60 a year in TX for property tax and registration. The whole no income taxes or sales tax thing always makes me laugh, they are getting money from somewhere.

Whoa, there's a track in Milton? We visit Navarre at least twice a year, I'd love to bring my bike one time and check out moto in Florida. I searched once for tracks near the area and came up empty!

No, property taxes are quite reasonable. Fuel costs are low too.

If you live outside the city centers, it's quite reasonable to live here.

I get a week to prepare for a hurricane.

Can't say that about earthquakes and tornados

This is not a fact. You are taxed based on where you earn that income. A Chicago based company does not clip their employees based in Texas for state income tax. If that Texas based employee was assigned a project in California, they are then assessed the California Tax. This is a fact. Real life.

It’s more about the pedophiles and homeless drug addicts than people of different nationalities.

What makes me say that is living in WA and paying Oregon income tax because that’s where the company was.
Edit* this included projects on the WA side of the border, so maybe my accountant just sucks

What are the odds that GasGas wanted Wilbur in their program without threatening Tyler Keefe's position? So they gave him a different title but he will be playing a huge part in the running of the team?

This^^^ my family owned the original track in Milton. My dad got out of it after 20 years or so in 2010.

The Ash family were always super great friends and were regulars at our track and it’s been great to see someone fill that void after we closed.

I currently work for a company based in Oregon. I live and work in WA, I didn’t pay state income tax. Your tax is based on where you earn the money. There are exceptions to that also depending on the state and length of time you worked in that state. If you work and live in WA there is no reason to pay anything to the state of Oregon.

probably doesnt want to leave his chick here... it took him awhile to land her.. and hes bros with her dad..

probably in love and doesnt want to leave is my best guess.. and im sure the Gasgas team gave him a raise vs him at star due to his influence and contributions the world has seen him make to that team.

This is a great thing for Gasgas in my opinion and Wilbur.. i think he found the role he was supposed to be in...

I couldn't agree more with many of the CA critics by CA residents but one: you can have all those companies leaving and that's good, it's in an equalizer and much needed swift, that withstanding in % economical terms, CA grew the most of all states in 2020 and can school other states that also have problem of their own.

Criminals are everywhere, same as many other things in this thread. If you wanna play by stereotypes then look at the Florida man, the hillbilly, the new yorker and so forth.

That being said, I wish CA had half of the people it has and no scum.

Smart on Will, and FYI FL is getting expensive.

We had a little 3.something a few weeks ago, but I'm zero percent worried about earthquake. It's the fires that really worry me. We've been dropped twice by insurance companies. It seems that there are three categories of insurance providers; the ones that are hip to the scene and want over $1000/mo, the ones that won't insure you at all, then there's the continuously shrinking category of the ones that their software hasn't caught up yet and they still have decent rates, because they're sure not doing it out of the kindness of their hearts.
