Anyone have a Jeep gladiator? Wondering if you can get a bike in the back angled with the tailgate shut.

5.5’ long bed is min length to get a bike in at an angle and shut the tailgate.

The bed is pretty narrow... I wouldn't count on it. But a bike trailer is cheap enough. And then you don't have to give up your off road ability with that crazy wheelbase. Get a JL instead. I've got a household full of Jeeps.

This one is mine.

I don’t know. But I do know, my sister has one, and anytime she has to drive more than an hour on the highway, she always wants to borrow my truck.

I had one for a Rental when they first came out. I hated it compared to my Tundra. Between the blind spots, wandering on the highway (every straight axle vehicle does this), and my head hits the roll bar. Couldn’t wait to give it back.

I get why people buy Jeeps. I don’t understand why anyone would buy one for a daily driver.

Unless you plan on off-roading a lot, it's not the truck for you. I do think it looks awesome. Just think of it as the opposite of the Ridgeline, in every sense.

That's the thing. It's a Jeep with a bed. It IS NOT a typical "pick-up". A bike in the back with the gate down is the typical way you'll carry your rdie in this thing.

What I like is it's ability to crawl into crap that a Raptor won't fit in to...or...the fact that is an actual "convertible". I'm looking to get a Mojave for runs up to Mammoth in the winter or trail hunting in the rockier parts of Baja.

After years of abuse in my CJ8 on leaf springs I was over it.. I seriously doubt any of the modern Fiats ride anything like the Ol AMC built Jeeps. It is a shame they tarnished the gladiator name.. at least they didn’t go after my scrambler heritage.

Give me a shout, we’ll go Jeepin and riding in the eastern Sierra! Headed up there in 2 weeks, no Jeep this year though. It’s under construction.

This is laurel lake trail right out of mammoth.

I looked at them when they came out. That's as far as my interest lasted. Our new in law's are into Jeeps. Safe to say they're not afraid of scratching the paint. Laughing

I got one as a rental last year. What a turd of a vehicle.

My gf was a big Jeep fan, so I let her drive it. She doesn't want a Jeep anymore haha.

I had a 4dr wrangler for about 4 months. Uncomfortable, noisy, & slow. I was going to supercharge it but my buddy had one supercharged and it was a gas hog. Sold it and got a silverado.

Guess I’m in minority. I’ve only ever owned Jeep’s but it’s my first gladiator. It’s my daily driver and I love it. No it’s not a work truck, nor is it a just a Jeep Wrangler with a bed but I’m not here to convince anyone. To answer your question, the bike fits sideways with the tailgate halfway up. I don’t have pics but you can lock the tailgate in a Halfway up position. It tows my 6x10 trailer a hell of a lot better than my 4 dr wrangler and pretty damn good for a mid sized truck on 35” tires.

If the Silverado will do what you bought the Jeep for, the Jeep was the wrong choice for you in the first place....

I rented one for a highway trip. 26mpg on the interstate at 75. I was shocked because our 4 door Rubicon with the same engine would be lucky to get 18mpg doing that. Steering had the same wander at the Unlimited. There is a new steering box out now that helps with that issue. All 2021 should have it and they should swap it out under warranty if you have an 18-20. new box is cast iron instead of aluminum.

That's what I like to see!!! Most people that buy a Jeep are after a "look"... Then there are those that actually want to see what it can do.

This obstacle is called Jackass on a trail called Jack Handle here in AZ. 6 Jeeps and I was the only one to try it.

I grew up with Jeeps. All time favorite vehicle was my 79 Cherokee Chief. LOVED it, and regret ever selling it. My first boss was a "jeep nut" and he sold jeep parts on the side. I'd go with him once a week to pick up old wagoneers, J10's, CJ's etc and we would tear them apart and make a lot of money selling the parts.. Fun bunch of years. I had a CJ7 with a 401 on thornbirds that was scary fast and, just plain scary lol.. There's something about old 70's/80's jeeps that are just so awesome if you don't mind picking up a wrench or having a steering wheel with as much slop as actual turning.

I couldn't ever get into the newer jeeps though. It's gotten even worse since the 4 door wrangler's. Everybody and their sister has a lifted 4 door with 35's around here.

If I'd never bought a Tundra in 2001, I'd probaby still be a jeep guy, but after driving well built, nice driving 4x4's, the thought of spending as much as they charge for newer jeeps is just out of the question. I will say, I can't wait to see the Hellcat wranglers at Starbucks soon.
